We had a day and a half to spend in the area before flying out. The hotel was average. It was clean and had hot water. The pool is clean and refreshing and positioned to be half shaded. Staff are friendly and communication was good despite my poor spanish. We were able to get a late checkout for a half day rate, which was appreciated. None of the wifi worked during our stay, no matter how many logins they supplied. Good value for short stay and a good location if you want to stay in the town vs at beach.

The property is older. That's fine. We had a clean room, hot water and a good location just two blocks from La Crucecita. But in this day and age, WiFi is a must. This hotel has great WiFi... in the lobby. But in the rooms? Literally nothing. I saw people walking the halls with their computers or IPads trying to find service. In today's age, where people use the web for everything from streaming movies to WhatsApp, connectivity is a must. Bottom line, if web access is not a deal breaker for you, AM Amakal is great. It's clean, affordable and has lots of hot water. Just know you can't write a review on their WiFi from your room.

This is a two, maybe three star property that has seen better days. But... it is near La Crucecita, across from a nice park, with a coffee shop and the price is very reasonable. Just don't expect perks. The rooms have lots of dents and scratches and while everything works, there are only a few outlets, a red flag in an era when everyone needs to charge phones, tablets and more. WiFi coverage in the rooms varies between sparse and non existent. On the positive side, there was always plenty of hot water and pretty good pressure in the shower. A note to Expedia travelers... I've used this property twice in the last two weeks. I pre paid once and was told I did not have a reservation. But we got it fixed. The second time I was set to pay at the hotel. When I arrived, they tried to overcharge me until one of the employees stepped in and said they had to respect the Expedia price. So just make sure you have documentation of your reservation and rate. Would I stay here again knowing what I know? When I need a bargain, of course. BTW... it is NOT disability friendly.

El personal fue muy amable, me brindaron información de cómo trasladarme a San Pedro Pochutla, que transporte tomar, costos, etc. El único detalle es que literalmente te comienzan atender para el check in cuando se cumplen literalmente las 3pm. Ni un minuto antes!!
