Because I had never visited Los Alamos when the booking said the place was located in Downtown I had envisioned a more traditional urban city center and not such a small village. But that's on me. As for the Canyon Inn itself it was centrally located, clean and relatively quiet. I also wasn't quite expecting the room to be a extra room in someone's residence but it was spacious and more comfortable than I thought it would be. The owners were friendly but not intrusive. Probably worth checking out if you like a domestic setting.
My stay was one night. Verything was comfortable, everyone was friendly and welcoming

The owner was very kind and communicated well, and the room was very clean, so the necessities were met. With that said, I'm not sure I would call this a "hotel" or "inn". It's literally a house you get one room in. The floors are older wood and you can hear every footstep someone takes in the house and any time someone enters or exits the house. I would say this is closer to a hostel with private rooms than a hotel. If the price reflected that it would probably be ok for a cheap place to crash for a night, but I would not pay what I did to stay here again.
Very nice room in converted house, just as you enter Los Alamos coming from Santa Fe. Proprietor is very friendly, there's a large common living room and kitchen. No thermostat in our room (just one for the house) but the vents are accessible and can be shut off if the AC is too cold. Very quiet room, slept very well.
An all around great place to stay, Short term or Long. The Owner/Hostess is a wonderful person that cares about her guests on a real and personal level.
