San Juan River

We took a 5 day rafting trip down the San Juan. Our second camp site at Hanaker had an amazing hike up the canyon wall to a look out over the river and canyon. Very hot hike, but the views were amazing. If I did this one again, I would probably go in the morning. The raft trip itself is pretty easy, only one Class III rapid. Two miles up a small canyon on our 4th day on the San Juan there is a stream that when you follow it up you find cool pools of fresh water waiting to be enjoyed. It was 100 degrees this day, we were in need of a refreshing dip. My little brother chose to cannon ball into this hidden oasis. #Hiking photo travel sweepstakes
