The ocean was visible from our room, property was beautiful, and staff was extra helpful. Had lunch at the Banyan Tree Grill. Great food and views. However, the service was slow and inconsistent.

We stayed in an ocean view villa and it was amazing. Easy access to the beach, which has lounge chairs and umbrellas. The property is beautiful. Staff is friendly and helpful. We’ll be back!

The hotel was built in 1958 and that’s how it felt, old dated, and beat up. The grounds were just okay. The pool area ok - nothing spectacular or special about the property really. The breakfast food at Caña was nice the lunch at the pool area below average. We paid $1,000 / night for ocean view room which was large but just sooo dated. The best part of the property was the gym which felt nice with good equipment but crowded most of the day. Overall, the feeling was that we totally overpaid for what we’ve received. Definitely not coming back.

The staff, especially Luis at The Lobby Bar, were pleasant and attentive. The servers on the beach seemed attentive to some and not to others. The food was delicious and the pools and beach phenomenal.

Overall stay was great, and the staff was very friendly. My one complaint would be the resort fee. I’ve never seen this at any other hotel, but it appears to be variable based on the room rate (I believe about 20%). As a result, the daily resort fee for my stay including tax was $142…that’s outrageous considering it barely includes anything (no breakfast or parking). I think other hotels in San Juan are similarly outrageous with the resort fees, but I’ve never seen that anywhere else.
