Check in was ok, a bit slow. Staff was friendly. Room was nice but lighting was too dim even with a lot of lamps. Bed was comfortable. We were disappointed with the breakfast. Not a lot of choices. No hot foods.

The room had wallpaper coming unglued which was unattractive. Overall the hotel was clean. We were disappointed in the breakfast. There were no hot foods and only apples for fruit. It appears this location is trying to hold on and business is slow. I would stay there again IF the cost was lower.

Overpriced for what you get, the breakfast was a huge disappointment after reading glowing reviews from 2024. Choice Hotels made a cost-cutting decision to take away all the hot items and just leave some cereal, toast, not even a waffle machine. Our check-in was slow and the room we were assigned had not been cleaned. The clerk was very nice, but was a fill-in and had not been sufficiently trained on their computer system. There are very few hotels in Abilene, KS. But if we ever come back, we will stay down the road in Salina rather than in Abilene. However, did fine a great new Asian restaurant in Abilene-Fuji's!

Clean, quiet and good location. The room was spacious and the bathroom had better lighting than some! Just a shower rather than tub/shower would be preferable for us.

Took more trips than necessary to get a key that worked. Eventually we were moved to a different room. Breakfast was bleak. No eggs, only fruit banana, and lots of carbs. Bed was comfortable, nice to have a frig and microwave.

First the good, breakfast was good for a hotel. Many different choices from bacon and eggs, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, pasteries, fruit and drinks. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. The room was very large, as clean as it could be for how old the property is and the shower had great water pressure Now the bad. This is an old hotel, they are building a new one across the street. Pets are allowed so the smell of dogs is in the hotel. Very thin walls. You hear everyone outside in the hallway. The bed was super stiff making it almost impossible to sleep. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. There used to be one but it was removed making it possible to see into the bathroom next door. Some signs of black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and a ton of rust around the door frame of the bathroom. Non working tv which isn't that big of a deal. Way overpriced for the area and was expecting so much more but i was very disappointed in the upkeep of the property. I would not stay here again. Drive a few more miles down the road.

The side entrance to the building supposedly requires the use of the room key to enter but the door doesn’t even lock. That makes me feel much less safe…about as safe as a drive-up motel without the barrier of a lobby. The pool room had the back door propped open and anybody could sneak in from outside. The coffee maker in the room was dusty and filthy inside; it was very unsanitary. There was no hand soap for the bathroom sink. The front desk attendant searched and found two small bars though she seemed annoyed with the request. She also didn’t seem to want to reprogram our card key that didn’t work. Even our 5 y.o. commented “She wasn’t very friendly.” She didn’t look up to greet people when they entered. Anybody off the street could be in this hotel. At least it is quiet; I think it may be because people know not to stay here. This room was extremely overpriced. For this rate we expected much more. Haven’t had breakfast yet so I can’t comment on that.
