Eric was very helpful in obtaining anything we needed to make our stay more comfortable. We did not see a kitchen area - we ate at the daily catch which is nearby
We spent 3 nights here in Oden’s Den. We chose this property because of our interest in how a school had been repurposed. We were blown away by the size and comfort of the rooms. Some of the rooms had beautiful views from their windows of the icebergs close by. This is a great spot to be for easy access to many sight seeing trips. And the recommendation for dinner was excellent as well (we went there twice). Our host was friendly and knowledgeable. Great vibe here.
This school turned hotel is awesome! A unique and fun experience! We stayed in a family suite. The room was spacious, the kitchen fully equipped, and huge bathroom. The game room was fun for our kids (ping pong, pool table, air hockey, and more) .

The location was good. Place clean but beds squeaky and uncomfortable
A school that has been turned into accommodations. Host very nice but the place needs a lot of work
Strange smell in hallways.
Very cool location in an old school building, with a fascinating history. Clean, bright, and lots of space in our suite. Plenty of on-site activities from air hockey and ping pong to paintball and axe throwing. The hosts were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They recommended a spot for dinner and even invited us to a party! True Newfoundland hospitality.
It’s an old school. We had a big room, once the staff room. Furniture and Bath were clean and worked, althought not very new and to a degree worn. We basically only slept there and for that it was ok.

It is a converted classroom in à disaffected school. It was a long time since I slept in a classroom. The bed was excellent, the couch comfy, the room was quiet and property heated. On the not so positive side, there was no water in the kitchen sink, the bathroom water was only lukewarm room, and there was no kitchen towel, making washing dishes difficult. We understand that the owner is making improvements, and do recommend this place.

Room in an old school converted into a rental unit. Beds, furniture, etc very ‘well used’. Plumbing exposed, cabinets and shelves unfinished…..but, it served our purposes. There was plenty of room inside and everything worked. It’s just not an aesthetically pleasing accommodation.
Eric was super helpful in making a space for us to stay near L’Anse aux Meadows during this busy season. It’s a strange place, this old school, but our room was spacious and very comfortable, with a large screen, kitchen, and nice big tub. Much thanks!
The owner is in the process of converting an elementary school into a hotel.
It’s a work in progress. There is a game room, library, gymnasium, and more. I’m sure it will be great when it is finished.

I'll start with the positives. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, and the bathroom was clean.
There were a few issues that affected our stay. Communication before and during check-in was confusing. When we arrived, we were directed to a room that was not ours and had to contact the property to get the correct room assignment. Clearer directions and confirming room assignments before guests arrive would make the check-in process much smoother.
The kitchen faucet was also not working during our stay. It wasn't a major issue, but it meant we had to wash our dishes in the bathroom.
The property is a former school that has been converted into accommodations. It felt like the accommodation was still being organized, and the check-in process was not as streamlined as at a typical hotel or established vacation rental. If you're planning to stay here, I'd recommend reaching out to the property in advance to confirm your room assignment and check-in instructions.
Unusual place to stay. Would be a super place for a family. Lots of in house options, games room, library for free plus some optional unusual things like axe throwing for a fee. My neice was tickled to be staying in an old school.
