The property was fantastic . The booking process via `expedia was very messy - 3 separate debits, two on the same day with a compensating credit the same day - all processed on different dates at different exchange rates. Very unsatisfactory.

Diese Unterkunft ist ein Traum! Das Preis-leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier voll! Wir hatten das African Ocean Zimmer mit direktem pool Zugang und Blick aufs Meer! Die Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und sehr großzügig! Der Whirlpool im Bad ist dann noch das absolute i Tüpfelchen bei dieser perfekten Unterkunft! Leider waren wir nur 2 Nächte dort, das nächste mal würde ich hier definitiv noch länger bleiben. Durch und durch einfach ein gelungen Hotel/ Resort und somit absolut 5 Sterne!!

Das Hotel war das große Highlight der Gardenroute. 5 Schritte vom Wasser entfernt, großzügiges Zimmer mit Meerblick. Nettes Personal, Frühstück unterm Dachgiebel mit Meerblick. Es war sensationell!

Wonderful location made up for what was a bit disappointing as a top rated venue . It was overpriced for what you got .Bin not empty when we arrived .No dinner service available although we were not told that until we arrived . Breakfast very average . That said best views of the coast we experienced.

Stunning location. Great service.

We made a very last minute reservation (2 hours before arrival) during a road trip in Aug and received a very friendly reception. The room was perfect with spectacular views. The service was fantastic and they even washed our car!

Highly recommended

The Sands provided accommodation which was comfortable, and even a little luxurious. I stayed only one night, and that was in winter so taking advantage of the two pools, including an infinity pool right on the ocean front, was not appealing. I had a welcome drink prepared for me on arrival and my car given a wash which were both signs that this is a hotel which goes that little bit further for its guests. The room was clean and very spacious with a sitting area looking out over the infinity pool and ocean. The only disappointment was the bed which was two single mattresses pushed together. The bathroom was also clean and spacious but did have a couple of features which seemed rather odd (to me at any rate): there was no wall, just a blind, between the bedroom and bathroom, which I suppose means you can sit in the bath and contemplate the ocean... There was also an extraordinary combination of shelves in the shower, featuring ones both impractically high and low. Finally, fussy me, the black toilet seat didn't seem classy. Anyway, this hasn't stopped me giving top marks and I haven't even mentioned the tea, coffee and minibar. I could definitely see myself returning in the summer for a longer stay.

Luxurious with amazing views right on the beach

Great guesthouse in the middle of this beautiful town. Our room (African Sunset) and the breakfast/dinner/bar area had absolutely spectacular views of the ocean and the cape. Very luxurious set up all round including (for our room) a jacuzzi, beach chairs and a table for two on our private deck. Lounge area opens up to make you feel like your outside. Room was very big and had everything we could need, satellite tv with all the channels, espresso coffee machine, magazines, in floor heating, and so on. Could rave about this place, and the staff, for a while but in the end we didn’t want to leave. If I’m ever back in this area I’ll be staying here again...

Perfect place and service for great relaxation

The most wonderful stay with such great personal service that exceeded all expectations! The rooms are spacious and elegant decorated with direct access to a small pool and garden, directly on the cliff with stunning beautiful view over the waves and surfers. Lovely breakfast in the restaurant with all round view, unfortunately restaurant was closed that night fro dinner, but the host took us to a good italian at Cape Francis. Wonderful walk on the beach, with few people around. A place for real relaxing. Sorry we could not stay longer. Would love to come back! Went on to PE Hotel Group`s Pumba Resort and The Beach Hotel in PE, with the same wonderful experiences!

Beautiful B&B in stunning location on sea front

This B&B was in a truly fantastic location, right on the sea front, with stunning views. Service was very personal and the food very good. A lovely was to spend a couple of nights relaxing. We did not find too much to do in the general area around St Francis Bay, but the B&B was an absolute gem.

A gem near the beach

We thought we had booked an hotel, so initially we ignored signs to The Sands B&B, but eventually drove to the B&B thinking that we had paid over the odds for our accommodation. As soon as we arrived however, we knew we had arrived at an upmarket destination and everything that followed confirmed that initial view. The bonus was finding out that they offered an evening meal which we elected to take rather than go to one of the nearby restaurants. Our meal of a cheese soufflé followed by a perfectly cooked rack of lamb exceeded expectations and with a great wine list to accompany the meal, we had a lovely evening. The room and the view were fantastic and our only regret is that we only stayed one night.

Fijn kleinschalig Hotel aan het strand. Ontbijt, kamer en locatie is allemaal prima in orde. De Kamer met uitzicht is op zee is ons heel goed bevallen.

Viel Wind aber toll

Das Guesthaus liegt direkt am Strand in St. Francis Bay und hat sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtete Zimmer. Wir wurden super nett betreut und bekamen eine tolle Essensempfehlung (Sushi). Einziger Nachteil ist der Wind. Es stürmt häufig sehr stark. Das Haus ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Beautiful relaxing stay

We stayed a the Sands just for two nights on our trip to the eastern cape. just over 1 hours drive from Port Elizabeth it was perfect to relax at the beggining of our trip .Very friendly staff, small and cosy hotel. Very comfortable room, view from the upstairs room is stunning as it overlooks the beach and the ocean and also the small but very nice pool and garden. Would definatley go back to the Sands if I was to stay on this part of the coast again
