"Great breakfast and fabulous location "

"Nice breakfast, The property looks the same as it did 5 years ago and has lost that cosy feel. It needs a little TLC and it seems to have lost the ‘Scottish roots’ Staff are very polite but wouldn’t say friendly with almost a passive agressive attitude. "

"Hotel and grounds are rather run down but trying. Bathroom in particular had seen better days. Room was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Our room name was Skye. The view was amazing and it was great watching Ferries come and go. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on food. Is a good 1/2 hour walk into town. "Had a nice 1 night stay in the Brander Lodge Hotel whilst enjoying the local area. Parts of the hotel could do with some tlc, but the breakfast room, dining room and bar area were lovely and the food was great. We liked the gardens with the river at the bottom. "We loved our two nights stay at Melfort House. It was peaceful idyll that restored us somewhat as we were nearing the end of our road trip through Scotland. Matthew is a wonderful host, and we felt welcome in his home. The breakfast offerings were top notch, and our room and bed were so comfortable.
