"KOMANEKA resort is right on the beautiful Keramas beach and the environment is spacious and restful - it has a very soulful vibe away from the bustle of Canggu and Ubud. We loved watching the waves breaking onto the black sand from our private villa and walking along the beach to Komune at low tide. The staff were amazing and we felt truly at home. Definitely worth a visit, particularly if you are heading to Padang Bai harbour for a fast ferry to the Gili islands line we were. It was beautiful."

"Imam the owner was very kind and was quick to sort out minor problems. "Staff were fantastic . Unfortunately plumbing went awry and our.room stunk of sewerage,getting so bad we had to ask the move rooms. Staff were happy to accommodate this but we had to ask as the cleaning staff just acted like the room was fine. No hot water on the last day. Quiet and out of the way but obviously has both some teething and ongoing maintenance issues. These things ruined our stay there."

"The 2 bedroom was beautiful. Enjoyed having our personal pool. Few hiccups, such as my request for a late checkout. Was quoted amount and it was confirmed, only to be later told they can’t offer it, to later offered a higher amount. Ordered the floating breakfast, asked for scrambled eggs but was given a sunny side up. Housekeeping didn’t do full Cleaning, just made the bed. One day I left early and left a water bottle on the bed and returned to find the bottle not on the night stand but on the floor. Place is nice and has great potential. Staff were nice."

"We had a wonderful stay at Samatra and would definitely return! The staff were incredibly friendly and so kind and accommodating whenever we had a request. The layout was a little different than we expected regarding the kitchen—it isn’t a full kitchen, as it only includes a fridge and a sink without a cooking stove. Also, the bathtub is located outside, so we primarily stuck to using the indoor shower. However, the surrounding nature and wildlife made it completely worth it. The views are absolutely beautiful! We loved waking up to kites flying, birds chirping, and even little lizards crawling around the room. My daughter was absolutely thrilled with all the animals, reptiles, and bugs. It was such a cute and memorable experience for her!"

"Sanctoo villas is beautiful accommodation and the people there are wonderful. We stayed for three nights in total and stayed in the “llama room”. I’m not sure what classification of room this is as it’s not actually what we booked. Word of caution. We booked a family suite and included the ages of the children in the booking (6 and 9) and were charged as such. When we arrived the suite has one bed and we were expected to sleep in one bed with the four of us. There was a sofa they offered to put a sheet onto at an extra charge but this wasn’t suitable. We paid to upgrade our room in the end but this would have been a real problem if that wasn’t available. Other than that, the zoo is great, the pool is lovely and the grounds are beautiful and well kept. The lemur apartments were a real treat. They are in the zoo so you are right in with exotic birds, lemurs and a wallaby. A real treat (be prepared for an 0600 wake up call though from the animals. This room specifically) The chef is awesome. The food was beautiful. Everything we ate was of high quality and there are a good few children’s options. The serving and reception staff are a credit to the hotel and our girls loved talking with them. It’s billed as a 5 star hotel and there are some minor bits that stop that. Can’t charge to room, they do a 3for2 beer offer, we ordered two but didn’t see the offer and they didn’t make us aware charging for 2 with no third. In room drinks average etc."
