This hotel is not a boutique hotel and doesn't claim to be so, its traditional and a bit quirky, but clean, comfortable, in a great location with parking as a plus

Nice comfortable hotel and welcoming. We had attic room which was nice clean and comfortable but if i stay again i would choose one of the rooms on first floor which appeared better. However our room was good value for money and great location from station and next to old town. Also had good parking

The family room with 4 beds is huge. Excellent location just outside de wall. Very quiet please.

The basic room was very nice, the location was great, and the bed was comfortable, however the check-in staff were, while very friendly, not terribly fluent in English and messed up our desire to have breakfast at the hotel, as a consequence we were served a very lackluster breakfast after having to wait 15 minutes with zero on the tables, them not thinking there would be anyone that day. And yet we were charged full price, which was more than a bit disappointing. Also, the hotel is virtually unstaffed all day. There was, literally, not a soul around for virtually the entirety of our 3-day, midweek stay. There is notionally a restaurant & bierstube on site, but we never saw a soul there and the lights were always off. The rooms are not cleaned in the day, simply tidied, which was a bit of a surprise as well. I really can't recommend this hotel.

Excellent location just outside the Walled city but for a few Euros more would recommend the Hotel across the street. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Sparse choices that were not replenished. Soft boiled eggs, sliced cheese and cold cuts, bread rolls, jam, cereal and some desserts. It was our understanding that the Breakfast was half of what the grumpy old man insisted it was. It was certainly not worth it. Also upon departure, the lady insisted that the payment had not been made for the second room. I insisted that it had. Neither owner spoke any English. After 10 minutes of discussion she acknowledged that the payment had indeed been made.

The hotel was very nice but the communication of the front reception leaves you feeling like you’re on your own because they never answer the phone, are often missing and never look at their inbox. There were several times we tried to call them because we had booked two nights and could not reach the city due to circumstances not in control as we got stranded in another town, they would not refund us, which is okay as we didn’t buy the cancellation but Expedia tried to contact them so many times and they could not get a hold of anyone at the reception or via email. If you stay here, ask all your questions if you happen to find someone at the desk in the first place, we had to wait 30 minutes because no one was available to check us in.

Very convenient location to explore Rothenburg

Loved the location right outside one of the main gates of Rothenburg. Great that parking was included, and we could leave the car there till after lunch on day of departure. The actual guesthouse felt authentic and was kept up well.
