"The room was mildly more than I expected, in that it had a split pack a/c which cooled the room down quite quickly. It also had a coffeemaker (which came with a warning that if you wanted more coffee you'd be charged). The hotel is also well-located for walking around Oaxaca.
That said, wow this hotel could be so much more, primarily due to staffing. When I arrived the front desk was surly and unwelcoming, not so much as a "bienvenido." Breakfast starts at 8 (really? 8?) and goes until 3:30 (?). There is a bar set-up, but no bar or bar service. Breakfast is exactly what they will make you, your only choice is the single add-in for your eggs (you cannot say "ham and cheese"), which will be scrambled.
Checkout was exactly the same, zero interest in me or how my stay was, no offer to call a cab, nothing. The only friendly face in this hotel was the woman cleaning the staircase. If you have a choice, stay somewhere where the management is interested in their guests!"
