"Very disappointed with my stay at CitizenM NoMa. The internet barely worked the entire time, and I couldn’t even connect to the TV, which defeats the purpose of having all the “smart” features the rooms advertise. What made the experience worse was the staff. The employees I interacted with didn’t seem welcoming or helpful at all. It honestly felt like I was bothering them just by asking for assistance. Hospitality should be a priority at a hotel, but that definitely wasn’t the vibe here. I’ve stayed at the CitizenM in Miami before and had a great experience, so I expected the same level of quality. Unfortunately, this location doesn’t come close. Compared to Miami, this one felt like a major downgrade. For the price and the brand reputation, I expected much better."

"While the rooms are lovely and the sheets were immaculate, I needed help with three things - 1) the front desk had to send an engineer to help me set up the Chromecast (there really was an issue, but the engineer came up at 930 pm and solved it) 2) the shower head was old and was not providing sufficient water flow and was malleable enough to where me trying to clean the openings was just squishing them (the showerhead wasn’t just cleaned, it was replaced by the time I got back to the room, but that tells you about the state of the hardware), the shower curtain was dirty - and again, they replaced the single-layer one with a replaceable liner fabric one (which tells you you have to ask for a clean and a modern liner and a shower head that works because they won’t update it on their own), and the repair team left two sharp items on the floor as a failure of sweeping the floor after the repair. I brought them to the front counter and other than an apology there was no effort to remedy this (they asked me if I needed medical help after stepping on it). So, it’s nice…. But you have to ask for basics. They’ll come through and help but they’ll still miss the mark. I’d stay here again but I’d adjust expectations tremendously."
