"It would be easy to mention a few negatives....but I'm not going to as staff dealt with these rather well. Huge praise for the young lady (Bob) who appears to single-handedly run the bar, restaurant, & hotel reservations. Food was very good, so compliments to the chef. We would certainly return."

"The location was easy to find using satnav and the access is very easy. There is ample parking in a quiet location. An unusual feature is that all rhe rooms are purpose built modern units detached from the much older public house part which also houses the restaurant. There is also a beer garden area with some shade. The benefit of this layout is that there are no staircases or lifts to navigate to get to your room. My room was exceptionally large, and my first impression was how cool it felt...

"Great place to stay for Forest Live. Hotel is lovely, warm and welcoming. It was a warm day so quite hot inside but we spent time outside in the huge gardens, the bar was open and we sat next to the river. Breakfast was superb, fresh fruit and proper butchers sausages! Would definitely stay again."

"There isn't anything I liked . The hotel was awful, staff unhelpful even after we complained. The manger was useless and unhelpful. The shower was broken bed side cabinet was also broken . "Amazing period hotel in a fabulous olde-worlde village. Absolute special treat!"

"I was not really happy with the room I was given. I booked a normal room, but received a room for an impaired person. I was put in room 1. The shower was a wet floor shower, which was not too bad, but the bed was terrible. The mattress had collapsed and I ended up sleeping ( actually I didn't sleep) in a dip, ended up with body aches."

"I came back and am booked to come back again! Feel really welcome: my dog was immediately drawn in by Bella, the new addition to the Griffin household.
