The Ribblehead Viaduct (aka Batty Moss Viaduct), which carries the Settle to Carlisle railway, Yorkshire Dales, UK (Apr 2013).

The viaduct was designed by engineer, John Sydney Crossley. The first stone was laid on 12 October 1870 and the last in 1874. One thousand navvies built the viaduct and established shanty towns on the moors for themselves and their families. The ITV series Jericho took its inspiration from the construction of this viaduct.

Ribblehead viaduct is a beautiful location with North Yorkshire. A stunning place with an amazing inn and short walk away.

Stalactite formation inside Ingleborough Cave , just outside of Clapham in Yorkshire. This is fondly known as 'The Elephant'. Can you see the resemblance? :) There's an interesting guided tour you can do through the cave and lots more formations to see. . You can even take the dog!

Pen-y-Ghent makes up one the Yorkshire 3 peaks which, if you accept the challenge have to complete all 3 peaks and 24 miles within 12 hours. Most people start with this one (the smallest of the 3 ) from the nearby village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale. I’ve completed the challenge many years ago in my youth and this time we just tackled this one on a circular 6 mile walk.

We took the 3 peaks ascent route which is steep in places and involves a scramble up some rocks near the end but the views
