"Friendly staff"

"When checking into the room the shower had obviously been left on for hours. The entire room had condensation on it the bed even felt wet. The floor was flooded and it was 80 degrees in the room. I picked up the wet phone and called the front desk he came up and turned off the shower and told me we could just lay some towels down and it would cool down. I asked for a new room and was told there wasn’t any. I said whatever and he left. Also the tv didn’t work so I had to call down again and he came up and restated it with a whole different remote and told us we couldn’t use the buttons on the remote 🙈"

"This is one of my favorite boutique hotels. The rooms are really nice, beds are really comfortable, bathrooms are nice. I love the modern western decor too. The location, at the end of Old Town Newhall, is amazing. Lots of restaurants are right outside the door. Parking can be tough if you come back late at night, but the staff will help you find a spot."

"The Portofino was great. It is an older inn with modern immunities. The staff and especially the manager are very proud of the inn and that transitioned well to the service we got! The parking was FREE which is like a unicorn in this area. Lots of filming history at Franks restaurant which is on the same lot. The provided breakfast included some pastry’s, bagels, juice, cereal, yogurt, fruit. If you’re a light breakfast person this is all you will need. I highly recommend staying here. The area is safe and close to lots of activities."

"The room we stayed in was clean and it had a straight path to the pool. Parking was also good since I was able to park in front of my room. The bathtub you can tell was run down and it took a while to get hot water running, but I like to take hot steaming showers. Also just so anyone is made aware that they ask for a $100 security deposit which to me caught me off guard because I was only expecting to pay for the room. Hopefully I do get a return on that deposit. Overall had a great stay here."

"I arrived to check-in and first red flag was “hotel”s location, I should’ve known better and checked before. Walking in the lobby clerk told me it was Cash only which was not labeled anywhere when booking this room so he made me use a broken atm machine that only dispensed a single $20 bill before making me walk around the corner to the nearest liquor store atm. The liquor stores atm was broken too! Thank lot they accepted cash back and I had some cash on me for the trip to cover room. The clerks are really unfriendly, when I asked about parking he told me under his breath through a doubled lanes glass that it’s in the back and first come first serve. The parking is horrible if you’re getting back late in the evening. The rooms are clearly used for sheltering homeless as the room was disgusting, unkept, and smelled like cigarettes. The walls paint is falling off and the bathroom floor had a gooey mystery mark that looked a lot like dog feces. I’m just hoping I have not caught any rashes or bumps from sleeping, toileting, and showering in this room. From about 5pm-8am all you hear from upstairs neighbors is “furniture moving” which got very irritable in middle of the night. At check out another clerk was giving a very hard time to a young lady who had issues with her ID and had cleared her situation with the previous clerk from the day before. I didn’t want to be charged a petty fee so I had to wait their whole 20 minute ordeal. There is also mold and roaches present in room."

"Even though there were lots of teenagers on a trip, the stay was still very peaceful. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The best part was the location. I will be back to this part of California."

"we were very satisfied with the cleanliness and comfortability of the room and the pool side area. The breakfast was very good as well. The only thing that could have improved on the breakfast was the eggs. They were scrambles in muffin tin shape and my family doesn't like them that way. Overall it was a great experience with the room, pool, breakfast, and check in and out. Thank you to the staff. "
