We just spent 5 nights at the Bellavista and it was outstanding! The location is absolutely perfect -- we were able to walk everywhere in town, and the staff was exceptional. From the front desk to bar/restaurant to housekeeping, all staff wanted to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Our family of 4 stayed in the duplex and there was tons of room. The view from our rooms was beyond incredible, and the beds very comfortable. A special thanks to Carolina (bar/restaurant manager) and Carolina (front desk) for making our stay even more enjoyable!

We had a very mixed experience at this hotel. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and most hotel rooms offer a great view and the location is very convenient. However the hotel is very dated and our room was extremely dated and is in need of renovation. Our biggest issue was that the bathrooms / showers only had lukewarm water at best, sometimes it was almost cold. We complained several times and were told it was fixed, but it really wasn’t. As I said, the staff was for the most part friendly, but the hotel owner needs to invest badly into some serious renovations.

A key downside is the pool – while it offers amazing views, families should know that you must reserve pool time before arrival. You only get one hour per day, which is quite limiting for a vacation spot. The Bella Vista Hotel has an excellent location, offering stunning views of the lake and nearby volcanoes. It’s also conveniently in the city center, making it easy to walk to shops and restaurants. However, the hotel shows signs of aging, especially in the rooms, which aren’t as well-maintained as expected. On the plus side, the restaurant serves excellent food.

Great view but on top of traffic.

The location was great, right downtown and on the bay, it was right in the activity or festival and walking distance to rental kayaks, etc. Our room had a beautiful view of Volcan Orsono. It's also right on top of the street that borders the bay. It's an older building, with no heat or AC in the room (that we could find, anyway). To cool off, we had the window wide open, which was OK during the day, but when we wanted to sleep, we had to close the window to keep out traffic noise, so it got a bit toasty. Great breakfast. Good restaurant for dinner, as well. Staff was quite nice.

Poor communication? Worse !

Unlucky to be there a night with hot weather. Since there is no AC, we opened the windows and didn’t sleep because the street noises. We decided to leave to another hotel. We had used hotel.com for 2 nights. We wanted to be assure that we pay for one night only but the hotel management didn’t guarantee the one night only. The front desk told me they called hotel.com and got no answer but I called hotel.com and while I stood in the front desk, hotel.com called the hotel and AMAZINGLY they let the phone ring over and over in front of us. I was appalled and told them to pick up the phone, so they did and put the hotel.com agent on hold. The hotel.com agent called me back when we were in the room ready to move to a different hotel. Hotel Bellavista never picked up the phone. But the agent reassured us that we won’t be charge. A simple issue could have been solved easily by talking to the hotel.com agent.

El personal del front desk es muy poco simpático .

Solicitamos y pagamos una habitación triple para 3 mujeres y nos dieron una habitación pequeña con cama matrimonial y un catre con un televisor arriba de la cabeza. Cuando llegamos le dijimos que queríamos ir a la pisicina y nos dijeron que ya estaba todo reservado ese día y al otro. Y después no llamaron si queríamos ir a la piscina 23:30 hs ( quien va a esa hora ?). Muy poco simpáticas las chicas del front desk .
