"Stayed here to attend a conference on site which was convenient. Breakfast is very good and I really liked the on site spa and fitness facilities. The spa had a promotion with the hotel which was good. The room is nice, comfortable and clean. Would’ve appreciated a mini fridge in the room although the hotel staff allowed me to keep things in reception. The reception staff are generally very helpful except one male manager during my stay who was not very flexible or helpful."

"Stayed here on numerous occasions over the last few years. Fantastic spec rooms with everything you need. The smell in the foyer as you enter the building is amazing. I'd love to know what it is. "

"Check in was very efficient and she answered our questions quickly. Her dining recommendation was very solid. Delightful room with essentially a glass wall, lots of light. Nice bedding, lighting, kettle coffee/tea, furnishings. Quite a bit of people noise and room door lock beeping in the hallway. I have stayed at hundreds of properties and this was the first with beeping card readers. The doors also slam shut loudly, which can be remedied via door closer adjustments and gasketing. Quite a bit of noise in the adjoining rooms, such as furniture sliding, visiting, screaming children, people walking, etc. into the evening (hard floors). Housekeeping was very active and noisy by 0930 Sunday AM, AND knocking on our door before check out time. We walked by them in the hallway twice, so clearly they were aware we were there and trying to move us along. Housekeeping had nothing to communicate when we opened the door except, sorry. Its certainly a difficult job. The floor was clean when I did morning stretches - most hotels don’t use a vacuum so you are doing great there. The included breakfast was very nice, stocked with many quality and healthy selections, well staffed with pleasant people. Thank you for having us on short notice, we were fortunate to have a place to stay on a holiday weekend."

"Winckley stays was disappointing, given its 5* status, and its wonderful restaurant on the ground floor, Aven, which was outstanding. 1. not that easy to find in the evening drizzle (small sign next to door only); 2. the room (Den) upstairs was close to the restaurant toilet, which meant that every time someone used that, the door to the room rattled; 3. the room was very hot, with no air con; 4. overlooked on all sides 5. limited toiletries - no conditioner or body lotion. 6. temp control knob on shower was broken. So, my high expectations were not met, which is a shame, as the area is lovely and close to the station; the staff are all great; and to repeat, the restaurant is wonderful. Certainly, want to eat there again, but dont think I will stay"
