"A lovely spacious hotel with potentially a lot going for it. Comfortable bed nice pillows, lovely pool, nice breakfast ( bit dull though). Sadly, the downside for us was it was absolutely SOUL-LESS. No atmosphere whatsoever. The majority of the staff were quite dour and at times unapproachable. Despite the description of the hotel being by the sea it certainly is not. It is quite some distance to the sea and the Seaview we were supposed to have from the room we booked was again quite some distance. We did find a lovely beach 10 minutes walk away which was really lovely. The town centre was a good 25 minutes walk which for us was just a bit too far so we used Uber a lot which was relatively inexpensive at under €4 a journey.
As I said it has such potential but I think a more honest description of the locality would be fair rather than mislead potential guests. The staff need some serious training. I know it’s the end of the season but that is no excuse for not making everyone feel as welcome as possible. The main entrance has a revolving door that doesn’t work mechanically so is incredibly hard to push open. All these things need serious attention. Anything we asked for at the reception desk never actually happened. Despite all this, we managed to have a lovely week in Portugal and would certainly visit this country again."
