Orbitz please take this Hotel off of your list .

The Hotel is a dump. They have no working phone so god forbid if you have no cellular service in Trinidad as I did. The Hotel lost power and no working back up generator. There was no lights and no AC. Guest had to find another Hotel to stay with no help from the Ambassador.

Room was never cleaned by staff and breakfast was horrible,not to mention sheff presentation.

Nightmare at the Ambassador Hotel in Trinidad

The hotel was dated, unkept and boarder line deplorable; considering there were visitors in Trinidad for the first time to enjoy carnival. On the second floor of the hotel there apparently had been a water leaks from the roof, as a result you can see that there were huge holes in the ceiling that had not been patched and or repaired. This was a bad look and gave me the impression that the owners could care less about their property. During my stay from 2/24/17 thru 2/28/17 the electrical power went out at least three times, and each time it stayed off for about two hours.

We were in Trinidad for a funeral. The hotel was close to the church and crematorium. We do not have cell phones, and the land line telephone system was down. My wife has mobility issues, and the elevator was broken. Hotel restaurant only open for breakfast. The air conditioner in our room was broken and could not be adjusted for temperature or noise.

The worst experience in my life.

It was like a horror movie. The room looked like it was not open in 50 years, it seemed like it stop on time.

One person staff who does know how to access my reservation. He could not verify that I have paid for a room at the hotel. The balcony leaked and linens were dinged. Conditions were deplorable. I would recommend this place to my enemy. Reverse the charges to my account.

Anniversary getaway

The hotel is in need of an upgrade as it is dated. The green 1970's carpet in the hallways and rooms is a dust magnet and makes the place look older than it is. The pool however is quite large and really relaxing. The location is perfect as it is within easy access to shopping malls,supermarkets and entertainment. From our room there was a great view of the ocean. As for the service Ms. Tenisha at the front desk is a perfect 10. She upgraded the TV in our room on arrival and assisted with everything from a minor AC issue to getting an ice bucket with ice and glasses for me to celebrate in my room to arranging a 3pm check out at NO EXTRA CHARGE. She's a gem and because of her we will definitely return.

Not recommended. Period.

Run down hotel, no electricity for a day, no drinking water, nowhere near to buy anything to drink or eat, they dont clean the rooms.

Close to the city!

It's a great location; however, they need to update their equipments.It's to outdated plus it's looks very old from the outside.

Hotel muy descuidado, hacian la limpieza diaria pero no colocaron en todo el tiempo que estuve jabon. No habia ni un vaso para tomar agua.

The room was stuffy as though it hadn't been used in a little while & it would appear as though it's due for an upgrade. The staff was very friendly & helpful along with their service which made my stay very enjoyable.

DO NOT STAY HERE.

This review will be kept short and simple...DO NOT STAY HERE! I was visiting Trinidad on business as a solo traveler and I was appalled at the conditions of this hotel. Please please please do not stay here. The only good thing is the hotel agreed to charge me only for 1 night since I checked out immediately the following day. However I pre-paid for 5 days through Expedia and now I'm in a battle with EXPEDIA to get refunded for the 4 days I DID NOT STAY. This is NOT a good place to stay in Trinidad. Place is very run down and just not a good spot to stay in Trinidad.

Some TLC

It was quiet, peaceful, the staff was pleasant, the compound was amazing....its large, in a great location and a great venue for weddings and other events, but it needs some updating. With some updates and renovation this hotel can be a great place to stay.

Great view of Port of Spain

This hotel's name betrayed my expectations. It is a hotel whose staff seem to be awaiting its closure. The staff could be more available and more responsive to requests. It's run like a shop and guests are not a priority. However, the rooms are spacious enough and the view of Port of Spain by night is great. Service is not a priority and please call a taxi several hours in advance as on all occasions when I contacted them, it took close to an hour and the rates varied considerably by driver. Would not recommend it to anyone.

had a good experience, spent 8 nights,the workers were so cool and friendly.did not hv a single problem with the facilities.and also loved spending time in the balcony
