A wonderful place we found in Poperinge!
Kind and service minded owners and staff.
Peace and quiet.
Wonderful garden with pool and hot tub.
We didn’t have enough time to enjoy the settings at this trip, but we will absolutely go back and then try the restaurant too!
Zeer gastvrij ontvangen, prachtige rustige ligging. Sfeervol & met Smaak aangeklede locatie .
Buitengewoon lekker diner gehad . Komen hier zeker nog terug
I booked the hotel Manoir Ogygia suite to treat myself after 6 nights of sharing a room after cycling all day and they did not disappoint. The suite is expansive with a private terrace and jacuzzi, enormous open shower, and even a sauna in the room. The service was top notch; they did not fail to impress.
Everything was exceptional, especially the facilities, the staff and the owners themselves. They have been running it for 17 years and it really is outstanding, especially the dinner in the dining room. We will be back! It was amazing. Thank you.
First time to this hotel and the sauna suit was worth every penny.
Sauna in the bathroom, jetted tub on the balcony, kitchen and lounge area, comfy bed.
Upon arriving, the double metal gate entry was very grand with the grounds well kept and welcoming. The Welcome Sign had our name on it - providing a special feel. The gravel parking area was difficult for wheeled luggage. Check in was a breeze. The room we were assigned was quite small with a large bathroom. The bed had a hump of foam separating the two sides - not a nice touch for a "romantic" get away. The staff removed it the next morning, as well as added additional padding for the very hard bed. Storage was adequate for our clothes but no place to store our luggage. The room safe did not work, couldn't figure out the instructions. The towels in the bathroom were clean but thin and some were frayed; they should be replaced. The soap, shampoo and conditioner were good quality but had to ask that they be replenished. Breakfast was very European - eggs prepared as requested, breads, pancakes, croissants, cheeses, jams, fresh fruit, meats, coffee/tea/juice and yogurt parfait. I don't know if we would stay again, but it was an experience, with the setting a real treat. We were not able to eat dinner at the Manor but it seemed to be a real treat. It felt as if you were a guests at a grand country house, with the rooms warm by both the heater, as well as caring staff.
We only stayed one night but it was enough for us to want to come back to this lovely welcoming hotel. It is in such a lovely setting you have a sense of peace and tranquillity as soon as you walk in the door. It is close enough for Ypres and we had a taxi take us there and pick us up, perfect.
Rooms are not large but well thought out. Breakfast was superb.
Beautifully romantic hotel in beautiful small Belgium town. Easy to walk into the center of town for many different restaurants and little shops. Stop by the butcher's shop for fresh cheese or by the bakery for fresh bread or pastries.
If you have a car there are a few Belgium breweries very close by which I highly recommend visiting.
There is also much WWi history to be seen, including the beautifully maintained British WWI cemetery.
What a great hotel after the long journey from england drving it was so nice to find this wonderful romantic hotel and to be bgreeted so nicley
what a little gem
What a find this small hotel was. We booked it for 4 nights for a recent holiday in Flanders. The hotel is charming and you really feel like a special guest. Each of the 9 rooms are distinctively furnished - we stayed in Hebe. Romance is always in the air and all the decorations throughout the hotel add to the romantic theme. As other visitors have said the food here is excellent - a sumptuous breakfast is served. We booked the evening meal for one evening and it was the best meal we have ever had served by the chef patron and accompanied by the chosen wines and aperitifs. It was a total experience and shouldn't be missed.
The location is excellent for Ypres and Arras in France.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.
What a fabulous hotel! The rooms were fantastic. We especially enjoyed our jacuzzi. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us - eg a plug socket in the reception area (so I could work on my lap top), and an early breakfast on our day of departure.
Thi is a beautiful hotel 15 minutes from Ypres in the quiet small town of Poperinge. It is one of a select number of hotels labelled Romantic Hotels and it certainly is, from the beautiful gardens strewn with loungers, hanging white lanterns and lights to the cosy bedroom and en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath.
Just one blight was a rogue mosquito (I opened the window to cool the room down) which rather ruined my husband's night but when we mentioned it in the morning we were advised that plug in mosquito repellents are available (not sure they'd be too pleased with a call at 2am though?!)
Breakfast the next morning more than made up for it with a glass of cava, freshly squeezed juice, freshly made pot of coffee and a pot of creamy mango, followed by a delicate cooked breakfast with smoked salmon and pastries etc.
It is within walking distance of the town and the helpful owners gave us a map of a walking tour to see the sights. Wifi only works downstairs but who needs the internet at weekends?!
I'd recommend this hotel for a romantic stopover.
Incredible B&B! Just about 5-star. Maybe if it were slightly closer to town center... The rooms, building and property are gorgeous. The staff is amazing and we felt pampered the entire stay. No detail has been overlooked here. Highly recommended.
What an amazing place - absolute romance, elegance and style without being pretentious or 'over grand'. All the rooms are individually furnished and it was delightful at the end of a busy day to take a personal Jacuzzi with the jet tub. The breakfast in the conservatory was absolutely fabulous - even had a glass of sparkling wine and the mini Easter eggs were a wonderful touch!! The gardens are beautiful and all in all this is a VERY special experience. Would recommend this to all my friends and family.
