Staying inside the park is well worth the extra cost. Lots of things to do on property. The 2 times game drives were amazing. Staff was outstanding. Everyone was super nice, super helpful, and plenty of staff around to help out any time of day.

Pros: Free Game drives; half boards options; wild life viewing on your backyard; restaurant staff are very friendly. Cons: have to bring your free water from your room to the rrstaurant because it's not free while dining in. Early check out at 1000, can request later check out but it's additional 600 per hour; no conditioners only shampoo and body wash available; robes are rough; you can not view your TV from the beds.

A nice (large) lodge with potential

Clearly one of the better lodges in Pilanesberg, beautifully located and well maintained. Check in experience was excellent and very friendly and attentive. This is the Wild, that they struggle to keep the rooms insect-free must not surprise. It was unfortunate that due to heavy rainfall, all game drives had to exit the park and enter at another gate costing 20 minutes driving extra before game viewing could actually begin. That turn-down service left all lights on in the evening is so 20th century - this is particularly unfortunate in South Africa in times of load shedding.

We last sayed at Kwa Maritane approx 20 yrs ago when we lived in Joburg. A long time later revisited with 3 children and it has lost nothing in that time as was as we remembered. Perfect safari taster for the children with big 5 in Pilanesberg, friendly staff and knowledgeable game drivers, comfortable and great food and just a pretty chilled out place to enjoy a malaria free game park. On doorstep on Sun City where we also stayed for 2 nights and for those with kids - valley of waves, 2km zip wire, segway and me and mrs even managed our first game of golf for about 12 months. We had heard reviews that places like kaw maritane were not what they were in the past - don't listen - it was a great few days and highly recommend

Excellent service from all staff. The resort was incredibly clean and well maintained. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The safari guides had a wealth of knowledge about the park and wildlife. They could answer every question with confidence and engaged our children in q and a. We really can't speak highly enough of the whole experience. On safari, we saw so many animals including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, black and white rhinos, giraffes and so much more! Highly recommend.

Great property in the middle of Pillanesburg National park! Pros- Cleanliness, sincere staff, two safari drives a day! Cons- No Halal food option but the chef tried their best to accommodate us. No heat in the room but we had plenty of blankets. I still recommend this property for folks wanting to enjoy African safari.

Schöne Lodge, gut gelegen, tolles Angebot. Etwas schade finde ich, dass auf meine Nachricht mit einer Anfrage der inbegriffenen Leistungen nie geantwortet wurde. Im Nachhinein ist uns auch aufgefallen, dass wir ein kleineres Zimmer bekommen haben, als wir gebucht (und bezahlt! für 2 Nächte insgesamt 30€ mehr) haben. Das Essen war gut, der Service und die Freundlichkeit aller Mitarbeiter ebenfalls.

Supertolle Anlage und wunderbarer Aufenthalt

Schönes Zimmer, grandioses Essen, tolle Lage und super Angebot. 2 von 3 Safaris waren lasch und in unseres Erachtens zu grossen Fahrzeugen. Das Hotel aber ganz toll. Wir fanden es sogar noch besser als erhofft.

Prendre son petit déjeuner ou son déjeuner en regardant les éléphants, les lémuriens, les macaques ou les springboks dans leur milieu naturel, c’est magique. La soirée boma dans la brousse, c’est génial. Le personnel est très accueillant et aimable.

Hotel muito bom, bonito, cama confortavel, areas externas bonitas e no geral foi muito bom! Cafe da manha e jantar sao bons, tipicos da regiao, mas o atendimento pode melhorar. A toalha de rosto de nosso quarto nao estava limpa mas nada que desabone a experiecnia em geral que foi otima. A equipe dos safaris e os safaris foram muito bons, conseguimos ver 3 dos 5 big five, inclusive leoes. No geral, foi um ptimo cusro beneficio e oitma experiência

Séjour magnifique et ambiance magique dans cet hôtel où tout est fait pour nous servir Des safaris sont inclus dans le séjour ce qui nous permet d’aller à des endroits spécifiques pour y découvrir les « big 5 ». Vues, piscines et environnement superbes ! Les chambres sont propres, grandes et agréables !

Our family of 2x adults and 2x kids aged 14 and 9 stayed for 5 nights in January. We had such a great time - Joseph was a sensational ranger and a character also - managed to find us almost everything obscure we asked about on our last drive. Also Tito / Tato (?) gave a really interesting snake demo - I've seen a few of these before elsewhere but his was really great and he was very patient afterwards with my kids holding the snakes. Clearly he is passionate about his snakes! That said, all the staff were pleasant and friendly. The rooms were great. Comfortable, clean albeit somewhat dated. And the buffet food was great, variety and plentiful. Thanks Kwa Maritane - we'd love to be back one day!

Not "luxury", but excellent game drives

I was excited to take my family to a malaria free safari, high quality / luxury experience for our 2 weeks in South Africa. That the game drive, breakfast, and dinner were bundled made things easier. We loved the game drives - the rangers were knowledgeable- especially the ranger on day 2 who had maneuver through mother natures rain and who helped two other rangers with vehicle issues. We say the big 5, and I like that there's a pause for a snack about 2 hours in. I expected "luxury" - the lodge boasts about its food and dinner both nights was not great. Day 1 - there was a mad rush of people and the buffet was untidy with food caked on many of the serving utensils, and food dripped from one pot into another. Day 2 was better - fewer people and they had a few servers at the carving station. I think they could keep it more tidy and "luxury" by having people serve the buffet food instead of self serve. I also did not like that water and soft drinks were treated as add on charges. Please just include this in the price - this felt "nickel and dime" - and far from luxury. Breakfast was good - though I would have liked tea and coffee to be ready to go vs the 10 minutes it took to receive anything at breakfast. And helpful if water was available. I had pedicure with polish and the person providing the service cut me a few times, and the polish was not polished in the end. She seemed incensed when she bumped my not dry nails and I asked her to redo.
