"We had a lovely one night stay at Ferncliff, it was just lovely and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend as a very well run ‘b&b’ type hotel but much more luxurious. Bernard in particular was fantastic, especially his cooking — we had both dinner and breakfast there. Very glad we chose this over the ‘grand hotel’ in the end. "

For some reason, the lovely tiled floors in the photos have since been replaced with a dark red, dirty carpet which instantly makes the room feel unclean. The shower head did not prop up. "The room was okay. But the bathroom was gross. It smelled. And the shower head sprayed water everywhere. The worst thing about the hotel was that it was soooo loud. There was an annoying loud noise outside our window, the whole night! And also this buzzing sound from inside the hotel, we were on the same floor as the pool—maybe there. I couldn’t figure it out. But I couldn’t sleep all night!"
