This used to be a magnificent hotel which I stayed in many times. Now it’s a run down shell. The room offered was squalid and to get to it I had to drive down a dirt track and the area outside was overrun by wild baboons. No food was available and I had not been told this in advance. I left and stayed across the road in an alternate hotel. May it one day return to what it once was.

The plave is neglected, the bar is closed. I had no hot water in the morning. My business partner did not have electricity in the morning. We struggled for 20 minutes to find our rooms. No security to assist. Terrible.

Very disappointing. Rooms were mouldy and not everything worked. Food was extremely expensive and very average. Not sure how they keep a 5 star rating as this was not even 2 star. Wont be back.

Stay in Phalaborwa

My stay at this hotel was great and we had a great time. They have friendly staff who were able to assist us with additional requests that we had.

Electricity fell out. No aircon, no tel. Very bad marking for rooms and back to reception, specially in the very very dark ! Generator not working as there was no petrol. No candles . They were looking for an electrician ( Saturday evening) Food buffet bad. Even if I asked if we could eat a la carte, there was only buffet that we had to share with a group of Japanese. Had to go to kitchen to look for a spoon as they were busy with the group.This hotel has a super location, has lots of potential but NO management that is capable to handle a minimum. They keep on building but the rest is NOT maintained, not even clean.At checkout next day I had to wait 15 min. because they could not find the invoice ( checked in day before). Did not have the bill for the horrible buffet. Breakfast at 6.30 h was not ready, they started to arrange it..went out without though. Once it was such a beautiful place, now dilapidated apart the reception hall, with a terrible service. Shame shame on the management. Absolutely not worth to be in the ranking of the golf hotels. Give me 3 month and I make it a jewel like it was before. I came back after 10 or 15 years, now never ever again. Such a pity! They should maintain what they have instead of building when the old ones are not in a descent state.

Will definately recommend it to family and friends

The hotel room was the best and the receptionist also very welcoming. Not far from the Kruger gate .. I was happy with everything.

Poor management of such a nice place. Staff busy chatting and making noise.Old staff uniforms...really the management should just fire themselves.

Overall: This place has so much potential. The location, close to Kruger, and the lodge-like feel is incredible. Peaceful and tranquility at its best.. However... a few little things (that easily can be remedied) spoilt the stay for us. Cleanliness terrible... unit was overrun with cockroaches and I had to call housekeeping to come and scrub the pot that was left in a sorry state after previous guests. No washing up abilities at all provided in self catering unit (ie sponge/cloth/dishwash liquid) so couldnt even clean it myself if I wanted to. Condition: One of the locks of the external doors was completely broken.. ie not even a lock in the door, so anyone could have walked in during the night or when we were not there. Service: Restuarant service wasnt great, we eventually had to get up and find the waitress to pay and leave after sitting with our empty plates in front of us for 45 mins.

Unpleasant Stay

Not pleasant. was travelling on business and wi-fi was not working. A lot of construction currently underway and most of the services like the Entertainment area dysfunctional. Feels very isolated. Kitchen not great either. Toilet close to the kitchen area had been soiled up and messed.

Hotel in a lovely location

I would rate my overall stay positive. The hotel has much potential, however during my stay there many parts of it were under construction and did not resemble the splendor portrayed in pictures. My room was very nice with a lovely bathroom and an amazing view from the balcony onto the golf course. Most members of staff were very friendly and forthcoming, however e.g. when asking about possible activities I was only handed the list of spa treatments. It wasn't until later that I found out that the hotel would have also arranged other activities. With the wifi not working very well it was hard to find out about activities on my own. Also, I found out from an other hotel guest that a member of staff had told him about the nature of my stay there. I am a private person and do not appreciate staff gossiping about my maters to other guest, not to mention the unpleasant situation this put me in with the friend I was visiting. The food at the hotel was good.

This hotel was like Faulty Towers.

So many things didn't work it eventually became funny. No air conditioning in our room, initially the shower didn't work, no electrical plugs where you could see a mirror in order to do your hair or shave, no wifi connection without four hours of protesting with the management ..... yet this hotel has beautiful facilities

Everything was just fine with the accommodation except that they had no record of our reservation. I luckily had it in my smart phone and that saved the day. Could have been very embarrassing.
