Nice hotel, close to the beach

The condo was in a great location. Room was fine and clean. Booking was not completely finished by Orbitz upon my arrival. Also, check-in is not at the same location where the condo is located.

5 days in the condo with no television. The maintenance co could care less and was no help whatsoever. Complained for 3 days and just give up. When we checked out they didn't even ask if it got fixed or not. The worst part was from the check in. Expedia posted the price on their website as one amount and when we checked in the price was considerably higher. The Royal American Beach getaway co is a joke. They charged us a considerable amount for breakage and when we checked out and there was not anything broke we still didn't get our money back. They just rip you off in case you break something. Then they charge for parking in a large parking lot that the condo owner never sees that money. When you call to complain they hang up on you or transfer you to a answering machine or transfer you to a different department that knows nothing. The whole Expedia and Royal American is the biggist ripoff I have ever experienced. I will never use either one again.

Hotel Chain Would've Been Better

Got to the check-in late, so had to go to alternate office. There were no signs outside the alternate office to associate the name of the condo where we stayed. Upon checking in, the hostesss immediately printed out another list of additional charges that were completely bogus: $85 room cleaning fee, $45 damage prevention fee, and $20 administration fee, and tax for a total of $161.00. I was flabbergasted at the additional costs, and was determined to leave my thoughts about them to the appropriate people. At the condo, the keys didn't fit the deadbolt on the door, and the door handle key appeared initially not to work. Being very tired, and getting more frustrated by the minute at the entire experience, my boyfriend finally, with some effort, coaxed the key to open the door. The room decor was somewhat like I had expected: outdated 1980's Florida style. The chairs, dishes, silverware, sheets etc, appeared all from the local thrift store. Nothing matched, and the dishes were in a mish-mosh of styles, sizes, and placement, just as you would find while shopping in a thrift store. The bedroom was by far the worst, because of the layer of crust on the carpet. I normally don't walk with shoes on carpet, but this was an extreme case; shoes were necessary. The tile around the vanity in the bathroom was a hack job, and looked as if an older vanity had been in a larger footprint within the tile, since there was a gap around the base of the vanity. I could keep going.

Nice people, run down room

The people, both tenants and staff were great. Check in was terrible. Had to check in two miles away. It was close to the beach, which was perfect. The beds were way uncomfortable. There wasn't enough toilet paper for a family of 3 and we had to take some from the pool house. We would not rent through them again.

The service was horrible not that we wanted to watch tv all day but to see the news and the cable didn't work our entire stay.

Gross

We are told we can only have one car on the premises which had we known this upfront we would have booked somewhere else...with 7 people one car isn't enough. Finally they allowed us to have two. We get to the condo and it's really outdated and not very clean. The walls need to be painted. There's little bitty steps leading to the loft that are sticky and gross. We go to pull out the sofa bed and the mattress has a big hole in the middle and there's springs sticking through so no one could sleep on it. The balcony door doesn't have a lock. There's a big crack on the bathroom wall and the ceiling is disclored from a leak. Condo 112 is gross and would never recommend anyone staying there.

Ripped Off

Even though Hotels.com sends you confirmation stating that all has been payed for, when I checked in I was hit with another $160.00 in fees. That really hurts the wallet when your on a tight budget. Room was seriously lacking in maintenance. Satellite didn't work. Bathtub drain wouldn't stay open. The ceiling fan was about to fall off the ceiling.
