This is a beautiful hotel expect the roads. The staff were incredibly nice and friendly and the food was good. Breakfast left something to be desire but overall was a great stay. We enjoyed it and had fun. It is also close to the beach which was a plus.

The staff and the location was good. We moved twice in the first day because some rooms are really noisy in the night because of people in the nearby streets or generator that is used in the night for electricity. The bed and billows are very hard. The rooms have no fridge but you can rent it, which I think is unnecessary. The staff are very hospitable and kind

The property was very quiet and provided a great place to relax and unwind and enjoy the sunshine along with the pool for cooling off. The staff was very attentive and provided anything needed. The Valentine's night dinner was amazing along with the room decorations. Every detail made the night special for me and my partner. I will never forget it.

This is a very good small hotel benefiting from friendly and helpful staff. Room was comfy (good mattress), roomy and clean. The bar and food was all good too. It is also very convenient for the village supermarket. I would happily come back here. Points to note, this is a fairly lively part of the town and you should expect some noise at night. REM nighttime is cooler and expect people to be out enjoying themselves. Personally, I did not lose much sleep. Maluum cave is a must see local attraction in walking distance (book ahead). The beach is awesome. Power cuts were frequent and short: no big deal. You will want to buy a local eSIM for data and, preferably voice. The service is generally good but expect some drop outs. Above all, expect to meet some great people and have a great time.

What I liked the most is that the entire hotel was built around 10 living palmtrees. Trees are still growing (there are holes for them in the floor between ground floor and the first floor) and providing shade for guests and living room for birds.

A Hidden Gem in Paje

Staff were very friendly and helpful, great food served by the pool. Daily events, including dancing on the rooftop terrace bar Modern hotel, great design, rooms grouped round the pool on the first floor. A few minutes walk from the beach . Highly recommended

Great and beautiful place and very nice staff. Food is also good. It is not directly on the beach but very close walking distance (3-4 mins). The only disadvantage was that it located in a very active areas (especially during nights) which make it a bit noisy

The staff are friendly and helpful but terribly underpaid. The hotel is located next to two bars that are open 24 hours a day–not a good mix. It's not located by the beach but a 5 minute walk away. It's over-priced compared to the dozens and dozens of other hotels nearby. The hot water heaters in the two different rooms we stayed did not work.

I really want to write this review to commend the staff at Aluna. I got horrible food poisoning from food I ate outside of the hotel and felt like I was on death’s door. However once the staff was aware of this, they took note and periodically checked on me to make sure I was okay. Rahman went above and beyond bringing me water, medicine and even food to make sure I was okay. Honestly wish I was not holed up in the room instead of enjoying the beach and the town of Paje however I would highly recommend Aluna for their service and the cute beach vibe of the room.

To call this hotel a 4 star hotel is a disgrace to actual 4 star hotels; it is maybe 3 stars in its best days, more realistically 2 stars. The amenities themselves are dated, and there is no dependable electric. I had to have the maintenance team come to my room 3+ times to reset the electric for the AC, water heater, etc, before finally just giving up and surrendering to the heat. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere in Paje, there are much nicer properties to choose from. I’m convinced the other reviews on here are fake because they in no way reflect my experience there.

Very clean room, all staff were extremely friendly and very attentive and professional. A fantastic pool with wonderfully authentic poolside bar. Prices reasonable and only a few minutes walk to the beach, where you are spoilt for choice with bars and restaurants.

Aufgrund eines sanitären Defekts erhielt ich nicht das gebuchte Zimmer und bekam auch keinerlei Kompensation, was mich doch sehr enttäuschte. Ein Upgrade würde ich daher nicht mehr buchen. Ansonsten war ich sehr zufrieden – das Hotel ist gut gelegen.

Il nostro soggiorno è stato (quasi) perfetto. Anche se al nostro arrivo abbiamo avuto un problema con il condizionatore, il personale, in particolare Raquel, ha fatto tutto il possibile per risolvere la situazione con minimo disagio da parte nostra… Hakuna matata! Il resto del soggiorno è proseguito alla perfezione, con ottimi consigli anche da parte del personale per rendere ancora più esclusiva la nostra parte di vacanza. L’hotel si trova in centro a Paje e comodissimo alla spiaggia. Il primo impatto con il centro di Paje può essere molto dubbioso ma in realtà si capisce subito dopo il suo spirito (ancora) autentico. Supermarket, lavanderia, farmacia tutto a portata di mano. Ottima la colazione ed il servizio, buona pulizia. Ottima scelta di ristoranti in zona a pochi passi. Brava Deborah ed al suo staff per esprimere l’ospitalità ed il clima autentico di Zanzibar attraverso l’Aluna Paje. Asante sana Aluna.
