The Imperial Torquay

"We have stayed at the Imperial hotel quite a number of times over the years and have always enjoyed our times here. The hotel has a fantastic location, great service from very friendly staff. The food is wonderful from a sumptuous breakfast to delicious evening meals. We do feel that the hotel needs a face-lift, it looks very tired in places. The facade in particular needs a major makeover."

"The Grand hotel is lovely. Its in a great location, close to the train station, beach and town centre. The outside pool was great, lovely and warm. Our family room was great, it was very spacious and the seaview was stunning. The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really high standard. The bar staff were also lovely. My only negative comment would be about a couple of the reception/front of house staff. There was a young girl who was on duty when we checked in and her attitude was just a bit abrupt and blunt. She didn't give a welcoming feeling at all on arrival and when we had a question for her she gave the impression it was too much hassle for her to help. Check out was smooth but when we went to collect our luggage from the luggage room the mail member of staff who got our bags, threw one bag down on the floor in front of us and then had a bit of an attitude when we informed him we were still waiting for 3 more bags. I think the reception staff could maybe do with a customer service refresher course."
