"A stunning facility in a rural property in belies the quality of this place. Check in was painless, efficient and helpful with clear directions to our room, once there WOW. Walked into a very large room with more space one would expect in a 5 star establishment. Big comfortable bed, really good bathroom and kitchen to boot. If we were going to stay in the area this would be the place to choose. Had dinner there and service was lovely, food plentiful and tasty and a pre dinner drink in the bar...

"What a gem, I have never been to the Lake District before and my jaw dropped the second you pull into the car park. I had made a note that we were celebrating a few special occasions and were given an upgrade I believe and a lovely card when we got to our room. "Excellent room, we had an executive suite and the view was marvellous as was the huge four poster bed. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best we've had, proper cumberland sausages - what can I say!. Staff were also excellent especially Joanne the manager who went above and beyond to make our 4 night stay very enjoyable. We had 2 meals in the hotel pub and again the food was of a very high standard, one meal was a sunday roast which I found absolutely superb. Will definitely stay here...

"The location is the big selling point; views over the lake are exceptional. The menu has a good choice, but doesn't vary from day-to-day. That could become an issue for a longer stay, but if it looks good on the menu, it will be good when it's served. The location sold it, but the staff made the trip exceptional.
