"The excellent staff did all they could to make or stay as pleasant as possible. However, the rooms were outdated and a bit scruffy. We had to ask for the rugs to be vacuumed and the bathroom floor washed before we felt comfortable with the cleanliness. The major drawbacks were that the hotel is without air conditioning and some rooms are quite noisy, as they are on the street with bar and restaurants all along the street on which the hotel resides. That said, I would consider looking at it again...

"Amadeus is idéal for an overnight or budget short stay in Haarlem. The rooms are above the bar/restaurant - and mine, on the 3rd floor was quiet. Nice staff - and continental breakfast ok s included."

"At a glance the hotel looked lovely and even though there was a queue, the check in process was smooth. Upon entering the bedroom there was stained carpets and a sewage smell coming from the bathroom. There was what looked like ketchup smeared above the mirror in the bedroom and stains in the carpet and the television did not work. They upgraded us and it was better but still not great and not value for money at all. The TV still didn’t work and we witnessed dirty cups being left to the front of...
