This hotel was in a great location close to bars/restaurants. The staff were friendly let us check in early (2hrs). The breakfast was wonderful. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Oslo Gem

Outstanding hotel on the northwest side of Oslo. A 10-15-minute walk to the heart of the city. The hotel breakfast buffet was excellent, something to look forward to every morning. Rooms were large and clean. Everyone at the front desk was incredibly helpful and I highly recommend this hotel.

I have stayed at the location multiple times and it is my main choice of Scandic branch in Oslo due to its location close to Nationaltheatret and the surrounding bus stops. Great staff and clean facility. Frøkost is also consistent as with any Scandic location. One thing I wish the St Olavs Plass location did had was a taxi request kiosk which other locations like the Scandic Bergen Byporten has for its local 0700 taxi company.

Paid a very high price for rooms. Specifically got a room with a/c. Then got told upon check in that the room we are booked is has a/c but it’s broken. Wouldn’t switch us rooms even though we paid extra for air conditioning. The wifi in the room did not work. They said they would send someone to fix it, never did.

The single beds too small. Otherwise it is a very clean and welcoming place. The staff supper friendly, the breakfast was a top notch, plenty choices. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Oslo. Transportation is very efficient to the city centre and central station

No storage for clothing in the room

Hotel was clean with friendly staff. We stayed in a superior room, the room had no fridge, no safe and very little clothes storage, this let the room down a little. The coffee and tea in the room was never replenished during our stay. The breakfast was excellent ( one of the best selections i have ever had in a hotel).

This property is extremely amazing. Very close to shopping, dining, public transportation etc. The bathroom floors are heated. Once I stored my luggage under the bed, there was plenty room to move around. Superior king size with a balcony was perfect for my 2 week stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was more than I had expected. Wide variety of breakfast options. I will definitely return to this property when I return to Oslo.

The hotel is easily accessible and centrally located. You can easily reach the harbor and many sights on foot. The breakfast was ok and quite extensive. The room was very narrow and the sofa bed was very uncomfortable. The breakfast room was very limited and crowded. The parking garage was extremely narrow and very uncomfortable. Extremely difficult for normal cars, almost impossible to solve for large cars.

The only issue encountered was that the hot breakfast was cold every day. When i requested if it could be warmed, they replied there was no microwave. Nothing could be done so I decided to only eat cold food. 😔

Good, but not great...

In total not what I would call a bad experience. On the plus side, the breakfast buffet was very good, and the fitness room actually has enough equipment for a serious workout. I was a little disappointed by my room, however. It was very small, and there were no shelves or drawers for storing one's things. Just some hangers on an unenclosed rack and a few pegs on the wall. The desk was a small dropleaf table on the wall, the bedside tables were tiny, and for some reason, the TV had only Scandinavian channels -- none in English or other major international languages, which I would have found very unsatisfactory if I had been a guest from outside the region. So kind of a mixed bag. Once I had gotten used to the situation, I enjoyed my 3-night stay, but I'm not sure I'd stay there again at that price point.

I had basically a windowless room (internal facing window that does not open). So if it matters to you double check when you are checking in that you have a window. Staff are super nice and I get the hotel was too full to switch but yikes.
