We just needed a safe place to sleep. We knew we wouldn't arrive until midnight and would be leaving by 7am, so we didn't need a lot of luxury. The sheets were old and thin and the shower didn't have the hottest weather but the staff was great and the neighborhood is safe. I hope to stay here again next year when I travel to that area for a race
Filthy room. Tub backed up and was not fixed after room was cleaned. Neighbors outside all night being loud. Got no sleep. Even though they refused a refund for my second and third nights, I checked out and went elsewhere. If I could rate zeros I would.
We were extremely dissatisfied with our experience! we arrived at Serena Inn and were immediately told that they had contacted Hotel.Com that morning to inform you that their motel was full but you did not contact us. The manager had to call you & then I spoke to Mary on the phone. I think this is unsatisfactory and I suggest that you do not include any "extended stay" motels to your list of available places to stay. While I was there, 3 other couples came in with the same greeting (2 were with Hotel.com, the other Expedia). Mary was excellent at trying to find a replacement motel for us even though it turned out to be a horrible motel (Meridian Inn & Suites) as well. If we hadn't been so desperate, we would have moved on! It was the worst motel we have EVER stayed in.
I had a few friends I also recommend to use this hotel who booked through Expedia. All three of their reservations were canceled. They offered a room that had no mattress on the bed and had urine all over the box spring. All three friends ended up staying in my room. The room next door actually had a family with 3 kids living there. Full pantry, cats, lawn chairs on the porch where they smoked cigars. I must say this was a horrible experience.
No money has been spent on maintenance for years, this old motel appears to be waiting for a developer to buy them out and put in another shopping center or housing development in this growing section of Orlando. Nevertheless, giving allowance for the forgoing statement, it was a pleasant enough one night stay. It was quiet, and the bed was good, which is two things I have found lacking many times in "nicer and newer" motels around the country.
Roaches all over the rooms. We left about 2 am because it got so bad. The staff apologize saying that they have too many people that there long term and it has been an issue. Not a place for vacationers staying a night.
Was disappointed. Stayed last year next door at SOL also refurbished and pleasantly surprised. This stay had new carpet ,stained beds, thin sheets. no chairs-still getting deliveries, skimpy towels with every other day service, few visible bugs but it is Florida. Old TVs. Cheaply refurbished -motel 6 has better updates. Used as a short term (not snow birds) place with holiday school break kids and no place for kids to play except parking lot near cars with bikes and skateboards. Front office people nice. Would not have stayed if didn't prepay and busy time of year. Tried not stay much in room and parked away from kids "play" area. Next time- won't stay there
Roach motel people live there with music blasting TV so loud you can hear in your room every night I had to kill at least 3 roaches nasty you pay for the price and I only went there cause everything was booked for the holidays i would not recommend this hotel housekeeping never clean just went on to pick up garbage never made the bed
