Unexpected charges. I feel deceived!
The condo was nice and roomy and clean when we arrived. However, there were only partial rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom and no extras to replace them. I have never stayed in a condo or hotel where we had to go to the store to buy our own toilet paper! There were nice bath towels but no kitchen towels or dish cloths. There was a dishwasher but no detergent. There were no extra garbage bags and we quickly filled up the one that was there. There were too many things that we had to go to the store to buy that we always expect to be in a hotel or condo. The fridge leaked and there was an ant problem but it looked like there were ant traps set to try to take care of that problem. I booked through Hotels.com by phone and the fellow I talked to said the booking was to be prepaid and non-refundable. I paid by credit card and he said the balance owed was zero. However, when the emailed receipt came, at the bottom it said that the condo would require $70 and $95 for cleaning. I was not told that when I was booking the non-refundable place. We had no choice but to pay the extra $165, which made the 3 day stay quite expensive. I would have made a different reservation if I had been told about the extra fees before I booked. I felt this was deceitful. I think $95 is a huge cleaning fee and I don't even know what the $70 was for. The condo was clean and quite comfortable but missing too many things. I wouldn't stay there again.
