So relaxing as the decor and setting was perfect. Seemed to be an old farm house with the perfect interior setting.

Unit was clean and kitchen was great.Staff was friendly. Location was great. We were a little disappointed that the bathtub Jacuzzi did not work and some of the furniture could have in better condition… I.e. kitchen chair had holes in it and sunk in the middle when you sat down. Springs were coming through the mattress. Some of the pillows were very flat and had stains in them. I would highly recommend this property for a short stay.

Beautiful, Hope To Stay There Again

Our stay was great. The Alling House is a beautiful Victorian house with everything, including many decorative items there and in place. We hope to stay there again next year when we attend the Florida Square Dance Convention.

It was a very nice and peaceful property. The four main cottages faced a center are that was well keep. Plenty of seating on the porches and in the center area with nice lighting at night. While we did see other staying at the other cabins, everyone was respectful, helping to keep the place sonething to enjoy.

Exceptional

Alling house is a lovely bed-and-breakfast with cabins. There is no breakfast served however, the cabins are fully equipped with kitchens. The grounds are beautiful, the cabins are all themed, very rustic and cozy with front porches and rocking chairs. The bed was extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Orange city.

This was a lovely stay. The internet search engines had not updated that it was not a bed and breakfast, but I really loved the grounds and my room. So quiet and lovely. Also it is very convenient to everything I wanted to do. Local quaint towns, the east coast beaches, and springs.

Very disappointed

I stayed in this property several years ago and was very pleased. This stay was extremely disappointing and I have communicated the issues to the owners. I will say that the property is well maintained and very clean; the Victorian ambiance is outstanding.

I thought a B&B meant bed & breakfast. In this case it meant bed & bath as there is NO breakfast. The place lacked the personal touch one comes to expect from a B&B, meaning there was no host. Impersonal text messages instructed check-in & check-out. I stayed in the Gold room which was very comfortable. The pillows and the shower head need to be replaced, Overall, I enjoyed my stay & I would stay here again.

I enjoyed my week stay at Alling House. It was a step back in time to grandmothers house... Authentic old decor and architecture. Most reasonable prices. No room service. TV didn’t work, but I only wanted to watch the Presidential debate. Property is for sale. I hope new owners will spruce it up a bit.

The bed was very comfortable. It had a large refrigerator to leave some food, the bathroom room was incredibly large and luxurious. Everything was there to make the stay easy like clean towels and soap a great coffee machine with coffee and those sort of amenities. It was so much cleaner than staying in a hotel and really private and quiet. The price was exceptional and was such an amazing place that it doesn't make sense to stay in another hotel if this place is available. The grounds were really nice but unfortunately I didn't have enough time to really enjoy them by sitting around outside in the backyard area. The room and furnishings were very pretty. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Property has changed hands recently. Apple Maps still has old name with B&B, but there is no food available. Owner not on property, which is in need of updating (and there was a sign in the bathroom promising that). Cabins were roomy and filled with character. All communication was via phone messaging. Other folks reported that a young man living on the premises promptly repaired a problem.

NOT for SENIORS. Had planned on staying here for a week (business in area)...COULD NOT WAIT to LEAVE! Property entrance DANGEROUSLY DARK at night! Use of flimsy electrical extension cords ADJACENT to wash basin area ...VERY ALARMING! These cords used throughout the suite I was renting. I quickly left the property after one night requesting a refund...OWNER DENIED, but credit card company went to bat for me. I REPORTED THIS PROPERTY to LOCAL BUILDING & FIRE AUTHORITIES.

Upon arrival, I'm sent to a different room other than the one I had booked online. Manager responded relatively quickly and told me my original room was vacant, however, I heard different stories but needless that room was occupied. The Victorian room had a piercing sound coming from the bathroom all throughout the night and bathroom had mold while the tub had mildew. I also found it rather dusty. I get the theme and all, but I would think cleanliness would still be a standard. I was moved to the Gold room and everything appeared relatively well. I was looking forward to the breakfast from the images online and included in the room. Breakfast smells were throughout the house. I waited for a good 30min before knocking on the permanent's resident door and inquired about breakfast. Poor guy said it happens often as breakfast was discontinued with change of owners. Overall I feel my stay was not good. The website is very misleading and I still have not received my refund for change in rooms. If I knew all this information ahead of time, I would've definitely booked elsewhere.

Area was very quiet and inside was clean. The only complaint would be that the bed, although nice vintage looking to match the rest was not very sturdy. Any movement on the bed would move the bed and create loud squeaking noises due to the loose frame and posts. This woke us up at night even just with one of us turning or adjusting.
