"I've stayed in Premier Inns before, such as one in London in the Blackfriars area and the one at Heathrow. Both of them were good, clean hotels. But this one in Reading was a major disappointment. The room was dingy, there were stains on the carpet and the bathroom floor was sticky. floors. The towels smelled. The worse was when I turned on the water in the shower and discovered that the water wasn't draining and what's worse, particles of debris (that strangely looked like wood chips) came out of the drain and were floating around in the water that refused to go down the drain. I went down to tell the front desk clerk about it and he said he would come up momentarily to look at it, but he never did. I gave up on that and went without a shower. There was no way I was getting in that bathtub. On the ground floor, the floors in the eating area were stained and the floor around the coffee machine were sticky as well. One final note: beware of the taxi company that has a contract with this hotel. I had an incompetent driver who couldn't figure out where my destination was. I also could not see a meter anywhere on his dashboard, which I believe is a licensing offence. "

"The apartment was clean and tidy and comfortable. The outside area is scruffy and overgrown, bit of an eyesore. Annoying the tv wouldn't load any terrestrial channels, so unless you have Netflix or Prime, you've nothing to watch in the evenings. Because there's no reception, the process of finding out how you get into the place is a bit protracted. I had to email the owners on the day I was checking in as I hadn't received any information about how to get into the apartment. Fair play, their support got back to me very promptly to tell me they couldn't process a 'damage waiver' pre-payment because I booked through Hotels.com and sent me a link to register my details. But had I not emailed them, I might have driven for 4 hours to Reading and not been able to access the property on arrival having already paid for my stay. Think the owners need to have a better system in place for when that happens. Take control and not leave the paying customer scrambling around on the day they're about to arrive."

"Rather gloomy and grim entrance the overall condition is quite poor and below standard expected by most business travellers . Whilst these apartments are cheaper than others in the city centre location - the condition is quite poor and I think these apartments offer poor value to anyone other than those on an extreme budget prepared to rough it - a previous reviewer talked about bedbugs which scares the hell out of me - anyway I shall not be returning there and I am critical of hotels.com for including this property in their listings.
