"Located on the shore of Lake Superior and the Big Iron River, this AmericInn feels like you’re at the end of the world. It’s very quiet and serene. Thankfully there is a restaurant/bar attached to the hotel otherwise it’s slim pickings for places to eat. If you’re looking for a high energy, glitzy getaway, this is not the place for you. If you just want to relax, wander the shoreline, and enjoy a community campfire, this is your best option."

"Cute retro place to stay for a few nights. I wish this motel and every accommodation on this earth would have a bedside table for each side. Also-I hope the (very nice) owners would please replace all the towels that must have been new at the time of the opening from last century."

"On a normal day, I would harp about the dated rooms and property. But here's the thing - The room was surprisingly clean, the location is nothing short of perfect, and the price (comparatively) reasonable. On top of that, renovations are underway. And what I saw looked great! Hopefully the place remains affordable. In the meantime, enjoy an actual key (you know, the old-style metal key with room tag attached), a clean room, the absolutely amazing views, and don't expect too much from the breakfast bar. A little bit of a mixed bag, but I can't wait to stay here again!"
