"This is the first negative review I've ever had to give. We stayed at The Golden Lion Hotel St. Ives. (13-14 Feb) We stayed in Room 20 which was very small and had the constant, very loud noise of the kitchen extractor humming. On the first night it was still on at 10.45pm and we had to ask Reception to deal with it and then it was back on, waking us up at 7pm. "A lovely stay at Thorpe Guest house. Lovely area and very relaxing. The hosts are very helpful on local area amenities and our stay. Would recommend highly if staying in the area. I would book again when visiting family and friends near by."

"Very peaceful location in pretty village with thatched cottages and near the river for riverside walks. Good security and entry instructions emailed by host pre-arrival. Room was beautifully decorated and all very clean. Lovely shower. Great breakfast delivered to the room - choice of cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, toast, jam/marmalade, orange juice. "This was a lovely quiet location which was very relaxing. The property we stayed in was lovely,my only disappointment was the bed was uncomfortable and both pillows were really flat. This however would not put us off staying again,we would just bring along our own pillows,and although the bed wasn’t very comfy,we could cope with this just for one night. Other than this ,we enjoyed our stay,and would definately return ."

"I was surprised to find out that you had to pay £5per day for using there car park even if you were staying or visiting hotel also the room don’t have usb sockets in the room so make sure you bring a plug. I am a diabetic and needed to keep injection in a fridge over the weekend guess what? No fridge in the room, you only get two English tea bags in the room and enough milk in the room for two cups of tea the room, the second day we got more milk but no more tea bags, for the price you pay for...
