"The hotel and grounds are beautiful - well worth staying a night. It's not everyday that you get to sleep in a former palace! The dining room, lounges, halls are ornately finished. The restaurant was expensive for dinner, but absolutely delicious. Breakfast is a wonderful buffet. Definitely eat on the terrace so you can enjoy the views of the forest and exterior of the building. It's probably the most beautiful outdoor dining I've ever seen. The only negatives are that the rooms are small and...

"Excellent hotel, great breakfast. Park in their garage for 7 E per night or free on the main street 5 min. away. Not much to see or do in Costs Nova but you are on the ocean and only 12 min away from Central Averio. If you think you can sit on the beach don't count on it; the winds are extremely strong most of the time. Still , it's a great spot to stay and get away from the bustle of the city which has plenty of parking, most of it free. Beds in this hotel are descent."

Then our room was immaculate, the bathroom was gorgeous, and the bed and linens were perfect so that we could fall asleep after a long trip from the US (or a day walking around the very walkable city of Aveiro)"

"This was the highlight of our stay in Portugal. The owners of the property (Marta and Iker) are fabulous hosts. They made us feel completely at home. As both of them have experience in the restaurant trade, breakfast (which is included) and snacks were exemplary. They make their own jams/preserves and will even cook you a three course meal if you wish.
