This motel reminded us of home. Older and well worn but with charm. The waffle maker was a fun experience. The grounds were lovely. The only negative was that the bed was extra firm & we are used to a soft mattress. We would recommend this motel.

The property is no Ritz, but it's a very good value for the money ($134/nt). The room was clean & comfortable with a big picture window looking out on a little pond and trees sporting colorful fall foliage. There was a load of parking and there's a fun restaurant Cuckoo's Nest Mexican a short walk from the lot. Shopping areas are just five minutes away in either direction. The ocean is a quick five minute drive away as well.

Overnight stay

Overall the hotel is tired. However, it does appear that the rooms (at least ours) have been very recently refreshed - paint, laminate flooring, furniture, etc. And, our room was as neat and clean as a pin. Perfect for an overnight stay for a destination wedding.

good hotel for the price.

I went to a wedding and travelled from FL to Old Saybrook, CT. I wanted a fairly inexpensive hotel in a safe area, close to the Marina. The room was clean, the shower was hot, the TV worked and the bed was sufficiently comfortable. I had a problem with my jewelry, with a small tag stuck on the post. The man at the service desk helped me. The landscaping outside was quite beautiful. i wish there were one or two more outlets.

Bathrooms were fine but rooms did not feel clean. There was hair on the pillow in one room. Website said they served breakfast but they do NOT. I tried to update my reservation and shorten by a day and customer support told me it would cost MORE than the day rate for a room to change the reservation- which feels redundant.

I liked the convenient location and that the staff (check-in and housekeeping) were friendly and helpful. A very kind housekeeper quickly came in and removed a spider for me after check-in. I was also pleasantly surprised that a continental breakfast was offered. That saved me from having to find a place on my own and possibly facing a long wait on a Sunday morning. The room was clean but could use some updates. There was a definite odor of stale cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. It didn't bother me too much b/c I grew up around smokers, but other guests might not be able to tolerate it. The lights were way too dim. As I left the room in the morning, I noticed water on the floor, possibly from a leaking refrigerator. It was probably there the night before, but the room was too dark to notice.
