"I want to give a really balanced view about The Stone House Hotel. I was staying for two nights on business and I found all of the colleagues that worked there to be extremely friendly and helpful. The food served is of a high quality. I had both the breakfast and items from their Indian menu - everything was really good. The downsides are: there is no air conditioning in the hotel. "A large and impressive hotel with great facilities. Unfortunately, we found the bed in our deluxe room uncomfortable and creaky and the room lacked basics such as milk and cold water. The food and drinks were delicious however, and we enjoyed the pool."

"We have stayed here several times although on this visit we felt there was a different atmosphere. Reception staff were very efficient and yet seemed less approachable. We usually enjoy the breakfast but this time it was really not worth the extra we paid for it as things like fruit and croissants ran out and weren’t replaced. The coffee machine also stopped working. The gym staff were very friendly and the workout equipment was good although the jacuzzi was out of action and the changing rooms...

"We used to stay here many years back when visiting relatives in the area. Now it has turned into a Spa Resort, great for those who like and want to be pampered, no problems there, but we did find the restaurants evening menu is now very restricted for choice., plus there was always cold blasts of air, making it very uncomfortable to dine. Back in the day the then Ostler restaurant was far superior"
