"Lots of positives and some negatives. In short I would go again. To expand a little... the complex and the layout are very good. It's a very nicely styled hotel. Compliments to the room cleaning staff, the restaurant staff, the bar staff (other than a bit of a grumpy guy called Omar at the pool bar) and compliments too to the entertainment team (though my kids didn't do much with them). All those guys were great. Reception staff were hit and miss. The luggage handler guys were imposing and controlling - I absolutely hated having my room key taken away from me while two luggage handlers escorts me to my room. Felt like a total tip-grab attempt. Food we maybe a 3.5 - 4 starts out of 5. Some bits were excellent, and other bits less so. There was always a plentiful supply though. I don't think you can expect too much out of an all-inclusive so for me this was fine - but my wife notes that we had better in Turkey. Now to my main gripe... it is absolutely unacceptable for a so-called 5* hotel to downgrade your room on arrival without any prior notification and then claim that you cannot have the room type you booked because we are full. You quite simply don't over-allocate. We got put into a double room which then had 2x extra temporary single beds squeezed in. When people book their holidays they pay careful attention to the room they choose and the extra money they are willing to pay for it - so downgrading you (and worse finding this out at 11pm with 2x small kids) was poor"

"It was basically someone’s house and they’ve moved out cos someone had booked the place. I “slept” on a mattress on the floor in what was basically a lounge. It was supposed to have more than 2 bedrooms. There were peoples bits and bobs evident. Like toothbrush and toothpaste, personal letters and such like. The lad Said was a nice guy. But the place wasn’t up to scratch. No clean bedding, no towels, dirty floors, no address details at the airport to give to customs officers who weren’t initially going to let us in to the country. The place was in the middles of nowhere, very dark when we arrived, quite intimidating really. Taxi just left us and got out of there!! We didn’t use the kitchen but the oven was very greasy and there was a smell of grease in the kitchen."

"We enjoyed staying in the tent for a couple of nights for a peaceful Marrakech stay. It is a lovely place if you have a car. The animals were friendly - lots of dogs, cats, horses, birds, nature. There is a shop and restaurant on site which is very convenient. Pool and hot tub aren't open this time of year. Towels would have been nicer If they were bigger and staff didn’t clean or change towels while we stayed. "

"A Solid 4-Star Experience (But Manage Your 5-Star Expectations) Stay: February 2026 | Resort: Pickalbatros Hotel du Golf Let me start by clarifying the rating: this resort is advertised as a 5-star property. If you are expecting the luxury level of a Four Seasons, Fairmont, or Le Méridien, you will be disappointed. I would realistically rank it as a high 3-star or a solid 4-star. That being said, if you adjust your expectations, it is still a very decent resort and we had a pleasant stay overall. Here is the breakdown of my experience: The Property & Rooms • Clean and Modern: The public areas and rooms are fairly modern, well-maintained, and very clean. My bedroom was well-appointed and comfortable. • Room Amenities: While daily tea and bottled water were always provided, I would have really appreciated an ironing board and a coffee maker in the room. The bedrooms have fairly thick doors so the rooms are really quiet at night. • No Construction: I noticed some previous reviews mentioned ongoing construction, but I am happy to report that I didn’t see or hear any construction noise during my stay. Food & Drinks • Great Buffet: The various buffets are a highlight, providing a fairly large selection. They feature outdoor grilling and tagines, a pasta station, and many other options. • Mediterranean Restaurant Quirk: We made a reservation at the Mediterranean restaurant (a short shuttle drive from the main hotel). "The staff were rude and not helpful at all. Our kids were not allowed to use the pool, and we later heard from a staff member that the pool does not even belong to the hotel. This was very disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel."
