Good views and comfortable

Very good view at the river with Acacia tree, breakfast also good. The room more comfortable and clean than my imagine. Staff very nice and friendly.

Traditional Small Resort

Excellent staff and good river view. The pool is clean and the restaurant is delicious. The pool bar being open would make it much better!

The property sits right on the river. The bar and restaurant overlook the river and have a great view of the setting sun. After a long day of sightseeing and adventures, grab a beverage at the bar, relax, and watch the sunset. The restaurant has a nice menu for lunch and dinner. The breakfast buffet also provided a variety of options. The room was clean and comfortable. WiFi was a bit spotty though. The staff were great! Very accommodating and helpful in recommending places to go and helping us get transportation. Bagan isn’t a big place so bring what you need. ATMs are scattered around.

Sublime stay on the Irrawaddy.

This was our third trip to the area, but our first stay at the Bagan Thande. There are many more choices nowadays in Bagan, finding the right hotel requires a bit of a search. We looked them all over and decided that this one was what we needed. It turned out to be a terrific choice. We were two couples; it was the first trip to SE Asia for our companions. We booked a couple of Garden View rooms for our 5 night stay. The size was perfect. The bathroom was quite large with a tub and separate shower. I can’t comment on the tub, never used it. Plenty of hot water in the shower, though. It also had the other common amenities like a TV, but we rarely turn it on while traveling. Breakfast was served outside under a beautiful Acacia tree. Stations for on demand eggs, fruit, cereal and yogurt, hot food items, and beverages were placed about the area. We always started early and never felt rushed or crowded. We left early each day, so I don’t know if it proved to be busy later. We also had dinner at the Acacia Restaurant each night we were there. Very sweet staff. The four of us usually had something different each night and everyone enjoyed the choices provided on the menu. Also, the stand alone bar that serves the riverside area was a great place to watch the sunset. Lots of interesting boat traffic on the river to keep you entertained as you sipped the beverage of your choice. Summing up; you can pay more to stay in Old Bagan, but you won’t find a better view.

Beau cadre et bien situé pour visiter Bagan

Bel établissement avec quelques chambres en face du fleuve, petit déjeuner type buffet copieux, chambres spacieuses, excentré du centre ville de Nyaung U mais très proche du site de Bagan. La réception organise des transports à la journée pour Bagan ou des transferts vers d'autres villes.

とてもいいホテルでした。次の日のチェックアウトが早朝5時半だったので朝食の開始前でしたが、それを伝えるとBreakfast Boxを用意して持たせてくれました。中身はバナナやパン、ゆで卵でした。助かりました。ホテルの敷地内にあるバーのパイナップルフレッシュジュースがおいしかったです。ただ、夜のバーは蚊にさされるので虫よけ必須だと思いました。

Insgesamt ein schönes Hotel, direkt am Fluss. Bar und Freiluftrestaurant schauen auf dem Fluss. Schöne Anlage. Saubere große Zimmer, gute Dusche. Was uns nicht gefallen hat: unsere Betten waren sehr hart, auch nachdem sie uns einen extra topper auf der Matratze gemacht haben. Da ging es einigermaßen. Und ab 5 Uhr Morgens die Lautstärke der Schiffe die vorbeifuhren. Echt unglaublich. Als wenn irgendeine Maschine direkt im Zimmer stand.

現地のレストランと比較して、食事代が相当高いので注意。味は薄味で日本人好みだが、現地料理のバリエーションがもっとあった方が良い。　部屋のグレードは中級クラスだが、清潔に維持されている。今回泊まったリバーサイドは眺めが素晴らしく、また静かで過ごしやすかった。逆に、レストランスペースの近くは夜までイベントで騒がしいはず。バーから眺める夕焼けは格別。

蒲甘最漂亮最值得看的几个庙塔都可以从酒店走路去看，地点是首选的，酒店环境很好，就是游泳池的水太冷基本用不了，房间设备有点旧，电视也有外国频道，早餐和餐厅都不错，价钱也不是特别贵，值得推荐。

オールドバガンの中の古いホテル。最新の設備は殆どありません。蚊取り線香は必携。ただ、エーヤワディー川の辺りでいただく朝食、夕食は最高でした。とにかくロケーションが素晴らしいです。ずっと座って川を眺めていたい気分になります。次回来る時もこのホテルを選ぶと思います。

Emplacement très agréable sur les rives de l’Irawaddy : parfait pour admirer le coucher de soleil. Petit-déjeuner très copieux et varié servi à l’extérieur dans le jardin jouxtant le fleuve. Équipe maîtrisant mal l’anglais, mais serviable. Chambres bungalow avec terrasses agréables sans plus. Assez bruyant : bruits constants et forts des bateaux sur le fleuve. En synthèse : une bonne adresse, cohérente par rapport à un prix... européen...

Great place, perfect location

Great hotel with a perfect location, right by the river with beatuful sunsets and close to the ancient area of the old stupas and pagodas. The food was good, including the breakfast. Rooms are of good size and wifi worked pretty good. Nice and helpful staff.

Loved the location. Loved the beauty of the hotel grounds. The room comes with a front porch and furniture to sit, relax and to enjoy the view. The pool looked clean, I just didn't have the time to jump in. Breakfast was varied and good. The staff was incredibly helpful and set up a tour guide to take me around and took care of booking my Okay bus to Mandalay.

Some of the staff were excellent and very attentive however one or two were surprisingly surly, unhelpful and frankly disappointing. The rooms are a little dated and could do with a face lift. Breakfast whilst not particularly exciting was fair value. Overall a little disappointing. I would not return here. Thiripyitsaya next door would be a better option.

Booked superior bungalow but was kindly upgraded to Deluxe Garden view on arrival. For enjoyment of this fabulous hotel would 'now' suggest to others this should be minimum room level booking. From room to staff to food (breakfast & dinner OTT) to pool to amenities all excellent. Fantastic cake and rose petal bedspread on my birthday (again unexpected) were lovely touches. Highly recommended

Loved it!

I arrived early and not feeling too well so was delighted when I was given my room key before 09.00! Great location; close to the main temples and on the river. Choose your sunset position! The hotel has loads of history which is in keeping with why someone would want to go to Bagan in the first place and had the added bonus of a pool and a great breakfast. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

Very nice hotel. Good environment, the sunset by the lake at the backyard of the hotel is priceless. Easy to travel to the temples in Bagan also. Enjoyed the experience.

Great river side setting

The setting of this hotel is fabulous. There is a resort feel to it. There are 4 hotel room bungalows spread across the grounds, a nice size pool, and a fabulous outside restaurant along the river. The food was great for their breakfast buffet and we chose to eat lunch/dinner there also. I would not book a hotel room along the river, as the loud boats start about 4:30 am.

Heerlijk hotel in historisch interessante omgeving

Verrassende ligging in historisch zeer interessante omgeving. Ligging aan de rivier met zwembad en spa faciliteit. Ontbijt aan de rivier en ook restaurantfaciliteit. Zeer behulpzaam personeel. Hotel heeft veel bungalows. Karakter van hotel past prima in de omgeving.

Nice hotel with beautiful sunset at the River

Very nice hotel centrally located in Old Bagan next the the Museum with beautiful sunset and river view. Clean and functional rooms with very helpful. Stuff.

Beautiful location, clean and worth every cent

Bagan is an ancient wonder hence the location is not to be missed - the Thande, in Old Bagan, whilst an older hotel resort and a bit tired, is set so beautifully that you enjoy just looking around your surroundings...

Excellent to visit old Bagan, even by foot.

The hotel is well located and at least superior rooms are comfortable. The only big problem is that Internet does not work beyond the entry of the room and at reception and the restaurant next to the river and at the swimming pool. It looks also that from the last few years the whole internet has improved signicantly the quality of the internet, including the mobile internet that is cheap. A little negative point is that at arrival you do not receive a welcome jus like in my experience has been standard in all hotels, even 2stars ones. Food is Ok a bit overpriced versus normal restaurants but under the standard for hotels. The view from the restaurant is lovely. Orders for more than one person do not arrive together, something to be improved. We would come back.

機動性が高いホテル

あちこち行きやすい。私はフルーツが好きなので朝は市場で買って来たフルーツをお願いして切ってもらい食べた。気に入らないのはひげそりとドライヤーがないこと。あと湯船が無い。夜は暇なのでスパに行ったがスタッフがいる時といない時があり、やる気のなさを感じた。

Expensive for a basic room

The central attraction of this hotel is that it is located within the archeological zone, which makes it very convenient for visiting the surrounding temples. But this means that the hotel is located far from amenities such as restaurants, money changers etc, which are primarily based in the neighbouring town of Nyuang U which is a 20min taxi ride away. For the price, I found the quality of the rooms to be mediocre. As the other reviews have suggested, the rooms are in need of a revamp and could be slightly cleaner (especially the toilet). However, other plus points would include the spectacular views of the sunset/sunrise along the Irrawaddy River offered by the hotel restaurant, Acacia Shade. The buffet breakfast was decent, and included a spread of Burmese food, a live omelette station, and delicious home-made yogurt. For the lack of other nearby options, we had dinner there as well. Prices are high by Burmese standards (USD$9 for a simple meal of stir fried vegetables with rice) and service was slow albeit courteous. Food was okay - thankfully, less oily than usual Burmese food. In all, passable hotel but I probably wouldn't return unless the prices are lower.

Amazing river view and magical Acacia trees

Our room was by the river and the view was fantastic. Dining under the Acacia trees was really magical. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful Bagan

Bagan Thande had such an amazing river view and the loveliest acacia tree where the dining was set under. Food is typical hotel food - a bit bland. But the drinks are good and the staff are great: it’s worth upgrading rooms to be in the nicer cottages closer to the river.

Perfect get away! Great hotel!

After the frantic pace and noise of Mandalay, this traditional hotel with an unparalleled view of the sun setting in the Irrawaddy river was perfect. It’s a bit old and quite old fashioned but don’t let that put you off. The serenity, gardens and pool easily make up for it not being decorated in today’s ubiquitous ‘neutral’ tones! The restaurant food is bland so go out to eat (weather spoons in Nyaung-U is excellent!) but bask in the peace and quiet of the beautifully maintained grounds.... and that sunset view!!

リバービューをお勧めします

リバーサイドに泊まりました。目の前が庭と川でステキな夕日が見れます。レストランもミャンマー料理屋パスタもあり、美味しかったです。
