Food In Bailey’s really good. No free wifi or aircon. Although the fans did the job, as it wasn ’t too hot, so not necessarily a complaint! Staff friendly and mostly very helpful
I would stay at the Governors Lodge again. The staff are great, helpful and friendly. The cabins are basically a small house and very comfortable. The pool was good. If you have a car you park outside your cabin and the lodge can organise your car hire for you.
Tour coaches stop outside reception. Bailey's restaurant is slightly upmarket with delicious food.
The only negative is no free wifi and the paid wifi isn't stable. It's a walk into Burnt Pine township but no problem if you're fit.
The Deluxe One Bedroom Cabin was spacious and clean. Some of the furniture was dated and the lounge is worn. The gardens are impressive, whilst the pool and spa were popular spots each afternoon. It is a quiet location with nice views. Unfortunately, there is no cooking allowed in the cabin not even a toaster which was disappointing. The WiFi is very limited.
Rooms starting to show their age. No shelf space in the bathroom and very little space around the basin. Pillows too soft.
Sofa beds do not make comfortable couches in a "deluxe suite"
No toasters in the rooms and the excuse for this is not acceptable.
Restaurant at the Governors is overrated.
Breakfast in the dining space is very good but the staff are all young backpackers who would rather be somewhere else.
If location is of paramount importance this is a go-to destination, otherwise, assess your options ....
Easy walk to town but car required to get to beach. Restaurant was closed and cafe unavailable often, but food always available across the road at Hilli's.
Not clean and were supposed to get a free bottle of wine but didn't happen. It was also supposed to be air conditioned and self contained but nothing

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Lovely grounds and nice restaurant.
We bought a package deal and the flight arrangements for our one case weighing 14.7 kg were dreadful. Air New Zealand who took over from Virgin from Sydney to Norfolk wanted 186 dollars one way to as the luggage was only covered from Melbourne to Sydney. Who would want a ticket that left their luggage in Sydney.
Great location not far from shopping & restaurants
We loved the fact that we were picked up from the airport and delivered back there. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Daily maintenance was greatly appreciated. The quietness of the place was impressive - only birdsong to be heard on many occasions. The only disappointing part was Baileys Restaurant which was exceptionally slow in delivering meals and the meals were not good quality. However, there are many other choices of places to eat. Overall, we would highly recommend Governor's Lodge to anyone.
I think the resort has every thing that you require when you are on holidays including a very good receptionist that can look after all your needs when required.

We had booked without having much knowledge of the Island layout or accommodation available on it. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. The stay at the Governors was a lovely experience, laid back, friendly, quiet efficiency, and when our flight was delayed on the day of departure they were very very accommodating and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. It was like staying with trusted friends.
Have always wanted to go to Norfolk Island and now have ticked it of my list.
The island is very quaint and is trying very hard to keep up with the rest of the world.
WIFI was impossible and this is what people want.
Not a place we are likely to return to in a hurry.
When booking check all tour sites and book a package with all the inclusions you can.
Your package MUST include car hire. It is expensive if you don't have it in your package.
Check ALL tour sites before parting with your money.
Good position to all the attractions as you do need a car on the Island. Staff were very helpful and always accomodating. Atmosphere was relaxed with beautiful landscaped grounds. Loved the spa. Would definitely stay here again.
Excellent staff very helpful. Units very comfortable.
Good having restaurants for when did not want to go further afield.
Gardens very nice and pool area.
Norfolk Island a great place to visit.
Quiet, overall comfortable place, all accomodation in detatched cabins - lounge/dining/kitchen area, bathoorm and bedroom. I was staying with a friend so one of us used the bedroom and the other the bed settee in the lounge. Complex has a small pool and laundry facilities. The only aspect we were not so keen on was the restaurant - food not that great, but are other options on Norfolk to get someting to eat. Complex also had towels you coudl take to Emily Bay plus snorkel gear/flippers - all for no extra charge.
A very clean ,easy place to stay. Great location, gardens, spa, pool, and accommodation - very private and quiet - 2 tellies, verandah, lounge, kitchen and nice en suite - comfy bed with plenty of blankets.
the motel room was clean and comfortable with excellent service daily.
the staff were attentive and so friendly.
the grounds were just beautiful.
fantastic, enjoyed every minute!!
