This remote property is perfect for those looking to get off the beaten path. It is in a very quiet, beautiful cove overlooking the ocean. While we were there, we were lucky to meet the hosts and even see seals. We highly recommend.
The only thing I would caution is to bring your own snacks if you stay on Sunday as the grocery store is closed.
Excellent place to stay in Westfjords with simply stunning landscape and vistas. It is very cold up there but the room was lovely and warm.
Communal kitchen was very well equipped.
Lovely room with table and chairs outside on the deck with view of the pebbly beach. Top place to stay but be mindful there is a long and very bumpy dirt road to acess and location is remote. ( Road best suited to a 4WD , not a little city car)
Loved this place!
Urdartindur was in a remote but beautiful area. We had not realised there was a long gravel road (over 60km) to get there, but this contributed to its unique quality. We liked being able to cook for ourselves, and an absolute highlight was the nearby outdoor pool and hot tub by the sea. We really enjoyed our stay!
Simple and quick check-in. Lovely room, looks newely renovated. Great view right outside the window! The hot spring pool nearby was amazing and super peaceful. Shared kitchen had everything you would need.
A magical place, we would have loved to stay longer. Very clean, comfortable and perfectly equipped accommodation in the most beautiful place we have come across in Iceland. Also all people from the local community have been very kind and friendly to us. Hope to come back, sooner or later
We highly enjoyed our stay. It is a small cabin and was tight for 4 adults, but we made it work with leaving a bit of our luggage in the car. Clean, small basic kitchen and BBQ that worked for us. Be aware you are very far out there. There is one restaurant but it was not open when we were there (opens June) and one very small convenience store (with a cut local coffee shop)--but I am not sure the hours are set. Best to make sure you bring your food and be prepared. There are a couple of nice hikes and the pools are amazing. It is quiet, no, or little human sounds. Road is unpaved and narrow in places with a drop off the side, that didn't bother us, but could disturb some.
Cabin in a quiet location. Nearby grocery store and restaurant open in afternoon and evening only options for food. Note that the pool shown as the primary photo is not at the Guesthouse but a five minute drive away.
Quaint little cabin, with everything you need to brave the high winds of the west fjords.
One recommendation, provide a mini bar with a red and white wine and mini liquors. After the treacherous drive through the icy mountains, we could’ve really used a drink to calm the nerves.
Beautiful property
Would stay again!
Cosy little cottage with 360 undisturbed magnificent views. If you seek tranquility & looking to recharge, this is the place for you. Great host too, check in with no issues at all.
Great place to stay and quiet. Only down fall and it’s a big one is that you need to drive 95 km on a very rough at times gravel road. It’s something that I think should be in the description. Also when looking at photos of the place it looks like it has a hot spring pool, when it doesn’t. It’s 4 km down the road with a fee.
It is difficult to reach out to the property. The pool picture attached to the property is misleading.

Unfortunatly we didn't get to stay at this wonderfull place due to car trouble.
We had to cancel our stay there and reroute.
We thank the owners for understanding and will definitly come back to there in the futur.
For future travelers, the road leading to this idealic place is under revision due to the winter damages..
Make sure to have a spare tyre in the car and not just the repairkit!!
Hire the right car for off road driving, which it is out there.
One of the most breathtaking spots I have ever travelled to. If you like a remote spot this is the place to stay. There is a hot pool 10 mins down the road around the bend of the peninsula. Sky was clear and we were able to catch the aurora as well. Very clean and warm. Easy to find as well :)
