Lovely B&B a short walk from Frenchmen Street
Great facility very well run. We enjoyed breakfast a lot and relaxing with other guests on both front and back porches. About 4 blocks to excellent music and pubs on Frenchmen Street with the French Market and the riverfront just beyond. Location works best if you enjoy walking. Note that it's about 6-8 steps up from the curb to the first floor and another 22 stairs to the second floor. The street is a bit noisy with traffic, so if you're a light sleeper you might prefer a high rise hotel.

So glad we stayed here! The house is beautiful, clean, and quiet. I enjoyed it more than a hotel. Plus it was in a cool area and very easy to walk to Frenchmen Street. The hosts were kind and helpful!

Lovely Old B&B on Edge of French Quarter
Attentive and welcoming owners, lovely rooms and wonderful breakfasts. Their shrimp and grits were fabulous!

Great room and owners
Close to French quarter for walking. Great breakfast. Open area with owners on site. Large front porch for people watching. Horse and buggies go by front as sitting out wirh morning coffee. Lots of recommendations from owners. Food. Music. Sites. There 5 days and enjoyed everyday

Amazing hidden gem!
Couldn't have asked for a better experience! This charming B&B was right by our favorite restaurants and bar,is gorgeous and incredibly well maintained. The owners are so nice and chill - they made us feel so welcome the whole time, and the breakfasts were delicious! Definitely will be booking another stay here in the future!

The best Bed and Breakfast in New Orleans!!!!
So many wonderful things to say about our stay that there are to many to list!!! This is a must stay if you visit New Orleans!!!!! The host are wonderful and welcoming! The room was inviting, comfortable and cozy! The breakfast in the mornings just topped off the amazing experience! We will be staying again!

Fabulous breakfast and great location
We had a wonderful experience at the Elysian Fields Inn. The owners Michelle and Bob were gracious, super friendly and forthcoming with info about things to do in the area. The breakfast was exceptional and gourmet. One day was delicious pancakes and sausage, the next was fabulous shrimp and grits, with berry fruit bowls each day. They are accomodating of dietary restrictions. The room was very clean, elegantly decorated and updated, and the bed was very comfortable with high end bedding. The building was a nice historic home that was spotlessly kept and spacious. It was just a few blocks from famous Frenchmen Street with the great Jazz clubs, and the French Quarter. Parking was on the street but we always found a spot within a block (a private spot is available but not for regular access to your car). The neighborhood felt relatively safe, but like any big city you'd probably want to be a little careful if you were walking around late at night in a non-touristy area. Being in a busy area there was a bit of traffic noise in our room which faced the street, but it was not bad. Overall the place was pretty quiet. There was a nice back deck overlooking the neighborhood. We loved our stay and would definitely return! Great value for being so close to the French Quarter.

Our host and hostess were so friendly. They genuinely seemed to enjoy having us as guests. We felt like family before we left.

Birthday Getaway
This was a getaway for my birthday. The owners brought out a donut with a candle & sang Happy Birthday to me. They were lovely people!! I'd highly recommend staying here.

Lovely place to stay in the heart of Marigny
Charming B&B off Frenchmen's Street close enough to the French Quarter, but far enough to get away from the craziness. In the heart of the funky Marigny neighborhood and walking distance from the Bywater as well. The owners were absolutely lovely and cooked breakfast every morning. Met people from all over the world and basically had a great experience over all. I will be recommending this place to my friends and family for future visits!

Perfect B&B
Really enjoyed our weekend at Elysian Fields Inn. Safely parked car away for the weekend and biked or walked the area. Room was clean and cozy. The hostesses Michelle & Bob were so nice and accommodating. The breakfast was amazing. Will definitely stay here in the future and suggest to all our friends.

We enjoyed a fantastic four-day weekend at the Elysian Fields Inn. I could go on and on about the accommodations, the friendliness of the hosts (and their dog), their knowledge of the city and the excellence of their cooking, BUT the Inn has been sold, and none of those things will have any meaning in a couple of weeks. The new owners will be taking possession in August (I believe the 5th is their first night). I'll be anxious to read the reviews under the new management, because those things that will remain the same are the reason I'll look here first the next time I book a trip to New Orleans: It's a very short and entertaining walk down Frenchmen Street to the French Quarter. Even in July, it went quickly enough that the heat wasn't too oppressive. There's a FANTASTIC community eatery, the St. Roch Market, just a couple of blocks away. 8-10 restaurants under a single roof, with a menu variety you have to see to believe (check Yelp for reviews). There was ample free parking (great because we drove in), and a Walgreens just up the street.

Extra night in New Orleans.
The room was nice but bath small (not unusual for older/historic home). Jim and Leigh were great hosts and breakfast was good - pecan pastries were great. Walk to the French qtrs wasn't too far but not greatest area seemed safe in day time. Weather hot in New Orleans in summer; just stop along the way for a beer.

Stayed here for 3 nights, both Leigh & Jim made our stay very special. The accommodation was excellent, had everything we needed for a break. It's just outside The French Quarter, about a 10 min walk to Frenchman Street, which is a great place to start with a drink & music. Then making your way up to the French Quarter where there is music, food, galleries & shops as well as some museums all about New Orleans & the Black Slavery that was there is the 18's.

Nice B&B close to French Quarter
Nice historic building within two blocks of French Quarter. Room was very clean and large. Bathroom had nice fluffy towels and Aveda shampoo, soaps, lotion etc. bed was comfortable, but pillows were thin and firm. Hosts were very friendly and the breakfast in the morning was superb! Don't hesitate to stay here with the great rate!

At first blush the location isn't alluring but it was a very few short blocks to Frenchmans street and on to the French Quarter. The inn was very quiet and homey. A cool and calm respite from the heat and bustle of NOLA.

Perfect
We stayed here for two nights, and it was great. The location is amazing, the room was clean and comfortable. The couple that owns the inn serve hot breakfast every morning, and are very nice and hospitable.

Awesome B&B near the French Quarter
Elysian Fields Inn was just what I needed for an all-too-short stay in New Orleans. It's just a few blocks from the French Quarter, but still slightly off the beaten path, so that it has the perfect mix of convenience and tranquility. Leigh and Jim are terrific hosts, with a gift for making strangers feel at home. And the breakfasts were delicious!

This accommodation was excellent value for your money. The owners were very helpful and accommodating, giving great advice of the local area. The breakfast were also excellent.

Top Notch Accomodation
We only stayed for one night as it was a short trim. The Elysian Fields Inn is amazing - everything you need. The innkeepers are so helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended. Close to everything.

Great B&B one block from Frenchmans street.
A truly wonderful B&B, with super attentive host. Jim & Leigh are likeable and very approachable. My wife Robin and I found our stay extremely pleasant. Leigh is very knowledgeable about the 'hapnin scene' in New Orleans. We would stay again any time!

As far as BnBs go this was nice. Clean and comfortable. Just out of the French Quarter but walkable. Brekky options were limited though but nice.

Nice bed and breakfast near to French Quarter
Nice place to crash within short walking distance to the French Quarter. Innkeeper were friendly and hospitable. Beautiful and comfortable quarters and for an excellent price.

Attentive owners
Leigh and Jim did a wonderful job. The breakfasts were delicous. Woke up to the smell of fresh brewed coffee. Realize old B&B (circa 1860's) so rooms are on the smaller size and bathrooms tiny. Very clean. 10 minute walk to Frenchmen St for music. A bit longer to French Quarter but doable. Felt safe walking around even late at night. Cabs not plentiful but each time we called they arrived in less than 10 minutes.

Outstanding experience would return in a heartbeat. Always felt safe walking everywhere to and from the Inn. You can tell Leigh and Jim love what they do and their attention to details for their guests made you feel comfortable.

Overall good 2 night stay here...short walk to French district..breakfast OK if you at happy with little choice....owners obviously want to leave as for sale sign up and had little digs at us for trivial things like running down hallway screaming to close door when we were loading luggage into car...totally unnecessary...

So happy we stayed at the Elysian Inn
We had a great 5 nights at the Elysian Inn. Would definitely recommend it and the proprietors Leigh and Jim were wonderful. We were about 2 blocks from French Quarter..convenient but not in the middle of the noisy quarter. We loved sitting on the front porch for morning coffee,then served a wonderful hot breakfast then in the afternoon on the porch again . Great time at the Inn.
