When one books a 2 person room with 1 bed, sends 1 person in to look at the room, and then moves 5 people in, that is not good. When they are then so noisy the other guests start complaining, you should expect to be asked to leave. This one booking is responsible for the two 1 star reviews we have had in 5 years, both the same night. And the first people we have had to ask to leave the property in years.

Colleen, clearly you were offended by our staff asking you to remove your shoes inside the mansion. We are equally offended by your review. 1. The majority of our guests treasure and appreciate the effort required in keeping the Blaylock pristine and authentic. Our restored 100 year old hardwood floors are easily damaged by the pebbles caught in shoes from the driveway. It is a major chore for us as well, to protect them, but we note clearly that slippers are required in all our booking information and happily provide free slippers to those that wish. 2. Many of our clients prefer to clear their bills at the comfort of their table than standing in the entrance.3. The fractional fee (7) goes toward restoration of historic parts of the property and we happily credit it. Most clients fall in love with the property and want to support its restoration and historic authenticity.Unlike most, you clearly didn't appreciate the beauty of the magnificent gardens or restored mansion. We invite you to wear your shoes inside your own home, or accommodations that do not care, where they may be needed.

It is a difficult balance adding modern additions like AC while maintaining the original architecture.Most of our guests are surprised how well the old designs manage temperature and how cool the mansion stays even the few weeks of 30C plus days. Sorry one was too cold and the other too hot.
