Our guest's reviews tell us what we need to do to make their stay more enjoyable .We regret you were not satisfied with your accommodations or our breakfast arrangements. We used to serve continental breakfast for our guests. We hade multiple requests for full breakfasts, so we decided to give our guests vouchers they could use for anything from continental to full breakfasts at a boutique hotel with a full service dining room, 4 blocks from our house, in the center of historic downtown Natchez. We provide a 24 hour coffee bar with a Keurig coffee maker, cream, sugar, & artificial sweetener on the floor with our guest rooms, & a covered outside gallery with comfortable seating overlooking our courtyard and fountain. We're sorry you didn't like our selection of Starbucks coffee. Based on your comments we've added two more kinds of Starbucks coffee so our guests will have more choices. We also have mini refrigerators in our rooms with ice buckets and drinking glasses, and provide lock boxes for our guests valuables to make their stay as pleasant as possible. Our home was built in 1870. Sometime in the mid 1900's a portion of the rear gallery was enclosed to create a bathroom for the room you stayed in, but the floor which was slopped to allow the rain water to run off was not leveled. The fixtures have been updated numerous times over the years, but the tile floor has never been leveled, which is not unusual for a 150+ year old house.Other than your dissatisfaction with your accommodations and our breakfast arrangements we hope you enjoyed your visit in Natchez. Paulette should have explained we provide then as a convienence, don't make a profit on them, and are only billed by The Guest house when they are used. I told you we'd appreciate your doing so, even if it was a poor review, so we could correct deficiencies.We are pet friendly, have hosted many guests with pets, while our other guests didn't have pets.You were not ask to leave. You were ask to keep your dog from barking. I was in my office, across the hall from your room. Your dog was was consistently barking. I thought it was because you weren't with him. Shortly thereafter you came out of your room, took him out, and returned to your room. He continued barking. I knocked on your door, said we had other guests checking into rooms next to your room, his barking would bother them, and said you needed to keep him from barking. You replied that it was hard to keep dogs from barking. Shortly thereafter, you ask me to refund the charge for the next two days, and said you would find other accommendations. We've had many guest with dogs. None have barked when their owners were with them. I had to either address this matter with you, or our other two guests who would be disturbed by your dogs barking.Thank you again for posting your review. We want our future guests to understand our policies. If you'd read this review you would not have made your reservation somewhere else.
