Hotel Catedral

"A nice hotel located very close to the Zocalo in Mexico City. Almost everything was really nice including the staff, the amenities and the restaurants. I would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to stay in the middle of it all. There were repairs going on and at times the noise was really bad in the lobby. But, overall I would give the hotel a 4 of 5 for location in a very historic setting and good service. The restaurants are ok to nice and offer a variety of dishes. Nothing seriously gourmet, but very good for the most part. Menu prices were not bad for a hotel. I had breakfast and especially enjoyed the Arrachera for lunch. My room was fine and there was hot water! I need to add one caveat: While I enjoyed most everything else, the Mignon Burger was really not worth eating and I did not finish it. Yeah, it set me off, but I did not raise a stink, just so you know. I am from Texas and know my burgers. The flavor was weird and the meat was the consistency of a soggy meatloaf. No red inside at all. Was this a microwave burger? There was no char at all. The "caramelized bacon" was under cooked. The chef's recipe has some herb that really fouls the flavor. Not sure where to stop. Yucky is the best word I can think of to describe it. "If it ain't broke don't fix it!" Just grill the meat and serve it."

"Fiesta Americana on Reforma has been my go-to for years now and I don't see that changing. Sure, there are nicer hotels in CDMX, but for the price, I think this property is top-of-class. As someone who travels a lot for work, a hotel's gym is super important to me and for Mexico City, this hotel has one of my favorite gyms. I've been coming here for years, and I don't see that changing."

"This hotel exceeded our expectations. It’s welcoming, modern and clean, with an incredible complimentary cafe and delicious buffet breakfast. The staff was kind and helpful in all capacities, from arranging transportation to directions and recommendations. We received nightly turndown and treat with a kind note. Just all around classy and lovely, we’ll definitely return on our next CDMX adventure."

"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The location was convenient, and everything was exactly as expected. I really enjoyed my experience and would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel!"

"Overall, 8.5/10. Hotel / room — great. Minimalist at its core, well designed and thoughtful without trying too hard. Rooftop is really nice. Sauna and jacuzzi are a plus. There’s currently no gym equipment — the space has been converted into an event space. Bed was a little soft for my liking, but that’s personal preference. Location is hard to beat if you want to stay in the Historic Center. Literally across the street from the cathedral. The only reason I’d rate it below a 9 is the Uber / taxi access. The surrounding blocks are closed to cars, so you’ll need to walk about a block and a half to meet your ride. It’s not a big deal most of the time, but checking in / out with luggage can be a little inconvenient. Otherwise, a great stay. Would definitely stay again."
