’s worth the price for a three-star hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room service was great. The room furniture was old and in need of replacement, but everything was clean. The rooftop pool was cool — don’t forget to try it! There’s also designated free parking in the back if you have a rental car. The neighborhood feels safe, though it’s not a beautiful or wealthy area. The nearby Turkish restaurant serves good food at reasonable prices.

Staff was nice. There are only about 8 parking spots, but I only fount this to be a problem on weekends, when you can use the rest of the lot free of charge. Check your room for bedbugs before settling in because I found some in my first room. Luckily, the staff quickly switched me to another room, which was perfectly fine.

This is a nice hotel, conveniently located for Al Khuwair Square but not much else of interest. Check was straight forward and welcoming, the breakfast buffet good, and the roof top pool a treat. The rooms are spacious but a bit tired now. Overall, a reasonable hotel.

We loved the Platinum Hotel, convenient, clean and very friendly. The Omani lady at the reception was so kind! We arrived at 5.30 am and the reception was open! We loved the rooftop swimming pool to chill out. We weren’t expecting it to be so nice!

The hotel staff where very accomadating especially the staff at recition Thuraya and Amer. Best part is the location of the hotel it central to all the arras in muscat, also around the hotel there is a vast range of coffe shops, restaurants, fast food takeaways. Will highly recommend.

Luxury in ancient Oman

Noise from lift is annoying you can hear it from your room and the pool is my only complaint. Otherwise I had a perfect stay. Great for relaxing around the pool looking out on Muscat city and great view of the mountains. Delicious food, gorgeous design hotels close to shopping malls and not far from the beach and excellent staff is a great reason to check in here.

Very good property to stay in! It was safe and there are restaurants nearby! The air conditioner worked great which is a bonus! The airport is close by and the staff was friendly! I did have to ask for a towel but they responded quickly! I traveled with my friend and as two female travelers we felt very safe. The breakfast was a buffet style with good options like eggs, sausage, croissants, and donuts as well as other traditional breakfast items to the country. Overall I highly recommend this hotel to other backpackers or solo travelers as it was accommodating, a great price, and safe!

I stayed here 13-20 Feb ( with a couple of days in Sur in between to see an old friend) and really enjoyed it. Loved the rooftop space and the view from there was so good. Conveniently located for supermarket and a few restaurants. I did walk to the Avenues Mall but you take your life into your hands crossing the large roads in places and as a lone woman I constantly got beeped by taxis asking if I needed a lift. Only negatives were no towels or soap in the bathroom - luckily I had brought both with me. Probably could have asked…….however great shower and such a comfortable bed.

The Platinum is close (15 minutes) from the airport and located close to a busy roundabout and local shopping area. The hotel itself needs some redecoration. The rooms, the dining area are a bit dated. I thought the breakfast selection was weird, ( cheese pizzas ) but I guess some people like it. Disappointed with the gym, old equipment and no air-con. The rooftop pool is pretty cool though with great views to the city. 30 minutes from the Murtah Souk.

The only suggestion I would give the hotel to replace the mattresses. It’s sinking and causes lower back discomfort. Besides that over all was a good stay. Staff was friendly, but they can be a bit welcoming at the front desk. It makes a huge difference for incoming guest trying to check in.

Despite some ups and downs, the hotel was ok. Staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and breakfast was decent. The main disappointment for me was the rooftop pool: no service available; water in the pool stagnant, cloudy and visibly unpleasant; at one point the pool area was even used by some guests as a drying area for their sweaty shirts, socks and shoes ..disgusting! Also the jacuzzi was permanently out of service. For me the choice of hotel often depends on the availability of the pool, so not being able to enjoy the pool was quite a big deal. I sincerely hope the hotel steps up and starts taking better care of it's pool area for guests to enjoy. Greetings.
