Great location and view. Dedicated parking very handy.
Good sea facing room. I think it has one of the largest balconies on the seafront. (Cromarty room) Fine breakfast. Why would people complain about hot plates?. Recommended.
Trudy & Peter were welcoming, warm, friendly from the very start. The Portland Room was very adequate for our families use. The breakfasts were freshly cooked to our requirements, fresh fruit daily, cereal. With cooked breakfasts, when Peter says the plates are hot he really means they are HOT. We found one draw back at breakfast was the coffee - these are coffee bags and take an age to “brew” - not really a criticism though. A really enjoyable 10 days.
The host was very tolerant of us after someone turned up a bit worse for wear. Beautiful place, loved rhe theme and the decor. Really lovely room and bathroom. Easy walk into town with places to rest for 'someone'. Thank you
Good location, excellent views from sea view room. Hosts very welcoming and friendly. Felt safe with COVID systems that had been put in place. Room very clean, comfy bed, comfy chairs to enjoy the view. Breakfast very good. Great to have parking. Would happily stay again.

The property ws very clean and tidy. We were greeted
A great homely B&B to stay in, I was greeted by the owner with a lovely smile and chat. I found the room warm, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. If I was to return to Morecambe, I would stay again.
The room was fine, albeit with a sloping floor - but the view more than made up for that! The ensuite was VERY small, with a shower over bath setup which might be better suited to a shower only.
Breakfast was good, especially as we had some specific food requirements, and we were made to feel very welcome.
Overall a pleasant stay, only slightly marred by the small ensuite, and the very squeaky doors!
I stayed 10 nights at The Shipping Lanes Hotel on my recent trip back to Morecambe. The hotel is well located on the prom, walking distance to bars and restaurants with private, off street parking.
Trudy and Alan worked hard to make my stay as pleasant as possible. They both took time out of their busy schedule to chat and show an interest in me, My room was immaculately clean and had a 180 degree view of Morecambe Bay with its bay window. There is no better view in Morecambe.
The full English breakfast each morning was cooked to perfection and served with a smile.
Thank you Trudy and Alan, you deserve a 12/10 rating.
Everything was perfect except the shower over the bath. It was impossible to get a consistent temperature from the mixer taps - it would go from cold to scalding and back. A minor quibble though.
This Hotel is well placed on the Sea Front close to the town centre and bus routes to get around I was there to visit a Vintage Bus Running Day The Hotel is comfortable Welcoming and clean not to convenient if disabled as no lift but my room was on first floor which was OK Breakfast was excellent
The Shipping Lanes Hotel far exceeded my expectations. The owners have obviously put in a lot of work to improve the rooms and facilities and the hotel has a lovely fresh feel about it. Great breakfast, nicely located on the seafront and close to town. Ticked all the boxes for a very reasonable rate. Found it a bit odd that I was asked to pay on arrival although I don't think that is the norm as others paid prior to leaving in the morning.
With the weather being nice, we decided to book a last minute mini break.
We looked on the reviews for the area and this hotel had a great rating.
We were not disapppointed.
the location, hotel, room and breakfast were all great also the owners were very nice.
will stay again.
Book a sea view
Beautiful place, very nice and clean, we had the room on the balcony at the front of the hotel, Trudi and Alan the owners, are very nice warm people, I would highly recommend visiting this hotel.
Lovely and very clean, owners Trudy and Alan make you very welcome, breakfast great, we had great sea view and a lovely balcony to sit out on, would stay again no problem.
The Shipping Lanes was conveniently close to where I was working the next day. The couple who run the hotel were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
I would recommend it highly especially if you want a quiet night's sleep away from the holiday makers that Morcambe Bay plays host to.
