We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful place. The view was unbeatable, rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable. The host family was super friendly, breakfast was so fresh. Fantastic! Very friendly, knowledgeable and Extremely helpful staff, arranging bookings for all surrounding activities at no extra coast, full of good tips! There is a glorious view all the way till the ocean with breathtaking sunset, animals all over the place ( capuchin monkeys, coatis, peccary, humming birds...) nice breakfast, yummy home made jam! Very charming and spacious cabin/lodge. I would happily go back anytime!

What a gem! Cost was totally reasonable- particularly given the quality of the included breakfast. The rooms were clean, the hostel enjoys beautiful views and you get a sense like you are nestled in the mountain. The only downside is that it is a 15 min walk to most restaurants and you need to either drive or take a VERY steep walk up the hill to return from town. That said, lovely spot and worth the walk for the quiet it allows. Wait staff at hotel could not be kinder or more gracious We enjoyed every moment in this special spot.

This property is BEAUTIFUL and incredible value for money! The view is gorgeous and the family who owns the hotel is so kind and lovely. They provide a delicious breakfast, and they even drove us to an ATM and offered to drive us into town. It’s not a far walk otherwise, just uphill on the way back. We also were walked to a nearby restaurant, Koora, which was incredible. The beds were comfy, the room is spacious, and our balcony was perfect. I would stay here again in the future.

The staff are amazing. It’s not far from the commerce and restaurants. Good breakfast. Beautiful view. Bad things: we could hear our neighbors all the time, even if they were just talking. Needs some noise cancelation insulation. No TV and no AC.

Vacationed here for a short honeymoon stay. Great property. However, take into consideration that the property is a 3-hour drive from the airport and the hotel does not provide transportation (costs an additional $USD200 for private transportation from the airport). Daily breakfast was wonderful and the staff was very kind and accommodating.

This hotel was quite a treat. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice. The room was modest, but perfect for our family of 4. The view from our balcony was amazing. It had a nice little kitchen with a small refrigerator. There were no screens for the windows, but we didn’t have a need for them. We saw lots of wildlife around the property. Our only gripe was a lack of hot water in the shower. We stayed one night and had a great stay.

The staff and service are wonderful. We have seen wildlife around the property including a coati, armadillo and a monkey! The location is up a hill/mountain so we tend to drive rather than walk into town. Breakfast here and all our meals in town at recommended spots have been great! The room is very clean but dated and the bathroom could use an upgrade. Otherwise, I’d give it 5 stars!

We stayed in the cabin, which is next to the reception. We stayed for two days. It was comfortable. We enjoyed having the balcony with an amazing view. The breakfast was great and served by the owners to our table. We also enjoyed seeing the wildlife on site. The best part about our stay was the friendly family. We did not realize how rough the roads were too Monteverde though! We drove from La Fortuna to Monte Verde. If you are visiting and driving this way, know that the roads are treacherous.

My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel. The welcome that David and his family gave us was genuine Costa Rican hospitality. Everything was wonderful—the room with wooden furnishings and a terrace overlooking a spectacular view made the experience unique. The people are definitely what make this place special and your experience in Costa Rica unforgettable. Thank you, David, for the warm welcome and travel advice. My only regret is not staying longer at this hotel, but I will be back. Pura Vida!
