The main view inside is a construction site, the hotel is busy and a bit noisy at times. A $100.00 deposit instead of just a 1.00 validation of the credit card feels excessive. Amenities I room very basic.
Using a hotel for its basic amenities makes the Novotel a great value for money property. My partner and I were especially impressed with the bathroom facilities and the cleanliness of the room. I will definitely consider this hotel for my next stay in Melbourne.
Convenient location. Staff was very nice. We stored our luggage at the concierge after check out but came back a couple of times to repack the stuff. But the staff had no complaints and greeted us every time with smiles. Love their services.
We have stayed here a couple of times now and really can’t fault it. Location is fantastic, central to all and easy walking to theatres, shopping and eating. If catching train to Flinders Street a short 5 minute walk. Staff are helpful, amenities great, breakfast magnificent and bar a great place to wind down.
Bed sheet had some stains. We called housekeeping to replace it on the first come, she answered yes but no action. We will never come back and avoiding to book any hotel with Novotel name

Check in was slow, multiple elevators weren’t working.
Bedside power points didn’t work.
Convenient to the city, transport and shopping. Dinner at hotel was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Air conditioning in my room was poor. Noise from renovation was a bit off putting. Towels and washers are a bit tired looking
Property was clean and convenient. Very close to public transport and restaurants and shops were close by

The room was reasonable and suited our family of 3 well. It is older but still comfortable. The staff are the biggest let down, the front of house staff especially rude and just don't care. One of the lifts from ground to level 3 was broken during our stay, and then the only other lift also broke down; leaving no lift to ground floor. Elderly people and those with mobility issues or prams (us) had no way to get to the ground floor and the older lady on reception didn't care at all and they didn't even put a sign to let people know it was out of order, so reception staff were literally watching people wait their for the lift for ages and not saying a word. We eventually ended up going down in the service lift. Housekeeping also didn't happen until after 3pm most days and rubbish was left outside rooms for 24 hours - surely the night staff should do rounds and collect this? Overall, the hotel room was comfortable and the location perfect, but it's let down by some of the staff and poor management of hotel facilities.
Nice stay overall. The indoor pool and spa were nice and warm. Concierge and restaurant staff service were friendly. There was clearly some construction work happening, but it wasn’t a bother. Don’t expect great view, we just saw
buildings across from us. TV was a little fiddly to get to work, so we didn’t use it much. Would be nice if there was a bigger play room for kids.
